Why dont you add a chat box?
But not a open one (i made a day ago that mistake) but a secret one just for members and i added at my forum a password to it so i can have greater faith in the chatroom.
And at the end of the day i get a log on the hosts site witch shows me what have the forum members have been discussing, and if someone has been insulting baam! ban for 3 days(ip not account).
It might be a bad thing to ban people for 3 days but i saw 2 minutes after i made the open one a guest starting insulting, so i made a hidden one and its working just fine.
(its just a advice, im no smart (we know what) but it is the only thing that (in my opinion) the forum lacks)

This board already has a chat room associated with it I believe (though I don't visit it myself), the TIB fallout shelter is its name.

It isn't hosted on this server, infact looking I have no idea where it is, there used to be a topic that was stuck in the Whatever forum but I assume it got lost when we upgraded the boards. As I never visited it, I don't know what mIRC channel it is

I don't think we need one on this forum though to be honest, you can use any chat program such as Messenger, AIM or ICQ to talk to anyone you want on here, jsut add them as a friend.

Neither do I, anymore. I used to. I have so much that is crazy. I want to have Yahoo IM on this LIVING ROOM computer. I asked my dad when I'm going to get internet in my room. He's like 'I don't know' . That frosts me a little because I got my friend from N.C IMing now and then and I need to get into her contact again. :angry:

That stinks Dayami! I wish that I had a type of IM device. Your lucky, if you have a computer in your room. What I really want is a laptop! Anyways, I hope you can get into contact with your friend from N.C. Also, thanks for telling me where I can get AIM!

I use Yahoo msger, dont have any comments on it, its good buy i hate the yahoo insider and some useless options.

Well, Longbow986 was in charge of the TIB chatroom. However, he's offline now and might be for quite a while. We never had an official one because of TBL. Personally I felt there was never a need because we always had TBL which preceeded TIB by several years. However, if TIB members don't feel like joining TBL just to chat with one another on Saturdays, something good be arranged on mIRC/IRC. It's all a matter of member interest.

The chat room is still around but nobody visits it anymore.

To access the TIB Fallout Shelter room on mIRC/IRC go to the Sorcerynet server, and to the #TIBFalloutShelter channel. You use to be albe to access it though this webpage http://www.guitarwolfy.com/longbow986/tibfos.htm but something is wrong with the java window and it won't load up.

Yeah I agree with AC on this one. No point on having 2 different chat rooms when they are practically the same thing.

As long as we don't run into the same problems from 2002 (you remember those AC) as before, then I don't mind. All one would have to do is join TBL to become a member. Posting on the TBL message board isn't required in order to use the chatroom though.

A few members of TBL NOT liking the idea of two different Balto message boards being so closely intertwined. Since they weren't TIB members (after leaving) they felt it was unfair if the happens of TIB were discussed on TBL. But it seems like some disagree with the idea of simply having people join TBL from TIB to chat. So perhaps that idea should be scratched.

I think If we add another chatroom to this forum, it would make a good idea. Also, I dont' have AIM or any type of instant messaging.
