Role playing rules

Same as for other forums?

Maybe this should have gone in the RP forum, but it's actually a question, so it seemed just as appropriate here.

Don't quite know how to put it, but do the rules for personal attacks and civility apply when you're in character, or only to the other forums?

For instance, suppose your character wanted to really lash out and tear strips off another character. Assume this is in the character of your character. He/she might be a bad guy, or a sociopath, or just having a bad day or something. Does this breach the posting rules, or do we assume there's nothing personal meant between the humans behind the characters? (just seems to me that otherwise everyone would wander around being nice to each other all the time.)

I'll give an example. On another wolf RP forum, someone turned up playing a kitten (or at least a 1 year old cat), mewe'd and proclaimed herself the alpha of one of the forums/packs, because nobody else was there yet. Now, suppose that was here, for the sake of argument, and suppose I'm RP'ing Steele or a similar character.  Am I supposed to turn up and go "oh, mighty kitty, may I join your pack?", when more realistically I would roar laughing, and then throw her over the nearest tree if I was feeling charitable?

Loop
*lol* That would make for a mighty dull RP... No, as long as it is in character, go right ahead. OOC telling of other RP'ers how to behave or whatnot is still against the rules, however.
