I was just at my of my school dances the other day, staying away from girls (I don't usually go to dances alot), as what my dad said (he thinks i'm still to young) . I don't usually go there, but my little sister insisted that I go, so i ended up going. It wasn't that bad though, or so I thought. Then suddenly, I saw these two kids trying to do the crip walk (to the song 1, 2 step), like Snoop and Xzibit. And when they did do the crip walk, it sucked ass. First of all, I belive no one should do the crip walk, because doing the crip walk means that you are actually in the gang, the crips. Second, the crip walk is just a dance move that only gang members use after killing a blood. Kids who decide to try and do the cripwalk, do it, and come up with one of those two foot jigs, which is just ugly, and disgraceful to the crips.
So i say to myself, why don't I try to learn the cripwalk ( I can do it much better than those kids). So I head down to one of those dance clubs in New York with my much older cousins. I get to this club (forgot it's name) and I see other people doing the crip walk. I want to watch them, so I can learn how to do they cripwalk. I eventually learn it, and still, I am trying to perfect it.
So does anyone know how to do good crip walk here?

Uh... no. I don't do gangs, I do horses. Lol. But I guess we all have to broaden our horizons... in very strange ways sometimes...
But no, I never heard of it till now. Good luck, though... I think.

Dont know i usualy am sedentary (lol with so much internet who needs gangs or smoking...)
I have a friend who does that crip walk and he is ok, he isnt in a gang he isnt smoking etc...
Its just a matter of taste (for example who heard of the old Monkey Island?) if you like it you do it if you dont than its ok.

The "crip" walk, isn't essentially a dance... people fail to understand that. It's origins are indeed from gangs, but they weren't ment as a "dance" persay, more as a way to talk to other gangs and when in prison, other inmates. It's a process of spelling with your feet.
I'm more of a break dance person myself. ;3

Commercialism, glamourization, and a trend sprout from the old and change them into something the present time frame can relate. This is why people think of it as "dance" now, because those are it's intentions, where back in the 80's and early 90's that wasn't the case.87-110773702023 Mar 2005, 21:29 UTC
Thanks Ravid for your advice!!! I now understand the crip walk origin!! Also, did you guys know that the crips got the idea for the crip walk from a cat! LOL

catwalk... My 2nd grade teacher used to do that before she had arthritis. Oh, well. I see her occasionally at the grocery store.

I thought that cripwalking was the same as catwalking. Oh, well. Yeah, she used to walk on the little wire across a far height. Brr...

Cool Dayami. I finally figured out how to do it now.

Talking with your feet? Well, that's pretty cool... even if it is gang thing. Pretty smart, actually.
