What do you do?

With a biting puppy

Okay, I've been a little ticked off at my puppy, Dakota.  He's biting me even though I have his mouth clamped shut in order to say "No, Bite!"  He's biting me all the time.  I have him slightly tied up in the living room, here.  He is playing by himself but, when I have him near me, he bites like heck.  What is your advice?  I need so much.  Thank you if you have advice.

THE 500TH POST!
You did good by just saying, "No," but it seems like he's biting so much because he's teething. I would suggest buying some more chew toys for him, or feeding him dry puppy food instead of wet food might help too. Remember not to yell or spank him, it will only make him scared of you. If he bites during a play session, it's a good idea to stop playing, say "No", and walk away. Leave him alone for a little while, and when he calms down, you can try again. Just remember: just letting him do it is not going to help. It will not be cute or anything when he's an adult with sharp canines! Hope I helped.  :)
Cut his/her teeth! Hehe, no, my dog bit everything, so I just gave him something to bite. Now he bite just food.

yes right
If a dog is biting, you have to make sure they know firstly it hurts and secondly it is bad. Dogs are tough animals and happily bite and nip each other and assume they can to us too, if he does, warn him with the NO and if he persists, push him away and don't let him back till he stops trying to bite. If that fails you can dish out the worst punishment for a puppy.. putting them on their own. Dogs don't like being on their own and if you iscolate him every time he bites, he will soon learn not to. You have to be fast though so that it is obvious that bite = on your own. If he bites, straight away leave the room and close the door. When he is calm return and repeat till he stops
My friends pup does this too, we just push him away and go set somewhere else, but usually its playing. We don't care that much though.
How old is Dakota now? It does sound like he's in his teething stage. The best thing to do would be to get him plenty of things to chew, such as Nylabones, Puppy Kongs, etc. When he bites you, tell him "No" or "Uh-uh", and if he keeps going, just ignore him. He'll soon be bored of you, and go off to do something else. Fluke's suggestions are very good.
Well Dayami. First of all make sure you try and keep Dakota away from things that he can bite. Second, if he starts to bite. Correct him by saying "NO". Once that is done, take away whatever he is chewing and replace it with something that he can chew (like a bone or a rag). Once he has the bone (or anything that he can chew) praise hime by petting and responding with some positive feed back (you know, the whole "good dog" thing). Never, slap him (I do that to my dog sometimes, but we make up after). If you do, he will start to dislike you, and fear you. Third, once Dakota starts to bite, close his muzzle and say "NO". I know that it will be difficult to grab his muzzle, but that is what I did to my dog. It worked. Anyways, good luck Dayami!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Obviously you need to train him before it becomes something serious; IE aggression, dominance..
ah, my dog is teething right now. I gave him a chew toy and a rawhide bone. hes usually pretty good, but he stole my hat! lol
