I HAVE to do something on Ferrets, and so here it is.
I have a ferret named Bandit, a sable ferret, and everytime someone sees him, they ask "What is it?" They are a part of the Weasel family (members include Sea Otter, Skunk, Mink, Muskrat...) and are VERY clever! To prove their cleverness, Bandit knows how to do tricks. He knows how to roll over, stand, sit and climb into his hammock on command. More tricks are coming soon.
Keeping a ferret is very fun and interesting. Alot of them are litterbox trained. Some refuse tyto use it however. They are also very picky about where they go to the bathroom. You normally don't put a litterbox in a corner and they will automatically go there. Ferrets normally pick their own corner (hence the nickname Corner-Bomber for Bandit) and it's your responsibility to move the litterbox there.
Feeding them is not that hard. Some people give them Cat food. Mostly the owners give them kitten food though. There are brands of ferret food out on the market however. We give that to Bandit. Cat food upsets is stomach. You can also buy ferret treats for them too. We have a type made by Marshall animnal Food Company called "Bandits." He LOVES them!
Generall care is simple, you clean out the litterbox and cage, feed and water them, and let them run around!! Ferrets haved a ton of energy, and what better way for them to release it that to let them run around your bathroom? Becomes vey fun to try to take a shower with a ferret nipping at your heels!!
I havemore info on them and feel free to email me if you have anymore questions on them!
