i think toy story is a good film but i think toy story in 1996 stole the oscar to balto. Balto merited that oscar!!!

I since Toy Story and Balto came out at the same time, well I don't know what to say about that. But Kids weren't interested in Balto that much, Toy Story was more kiddy and took the cake! Tell ya' the truth, I wasn't that much interested in Balto either when it came out.
Since "Balto" came out in late 1995, I think It may have missed the deadline for Oscar voting. I too felt "Balto should have been nominated for Best Score. And it was WAAAAAAAAAAY! than Toy Story. Even though Toy Story was very good
I didn't like Toy Story so much, it isn't a bad movie, but Balto is better.

Only when they talked about toy story on comercial i got sick, so to avoid further discution, no i didnt like it.

OK sorry, the truth is that i think that Toy Story is just plain low quality.
And the question about the Oscar, i think that it is lucky if i give it a 6 as a review. Conclusion: no it doesnt deserve a Oscar!

I agree with Shdrex, Toy story doesn't deserve the oscar! Maybe the same people who didn't give the Oscar to ET didn't give the Oscar to Balto either.
Toy Story was ***horrible***!!!!!!!!!!!! 
. And I mean it!!!! I really hated Toy Story. First, I didn't like the animation of it, and the characters suck. Second, I hate the songs. And third, it sux!!!!!!! Balto is way better than Toy Story.

I liked Toy Story, the songs were good, the animation great, the characters, well a few I didn't like. I really think Toy Story deserved the oscar. I'm not saying I don't like Balto is that you have to put fact to it, sure the animation was good, characters, voices, music, all good. The reason why nobody noticed it...... Wait, I just said it! Not very many people noticed it, a few did though, and when everybody did, that's when the sequals came out. I like Balto and all, it's just a few people have trouble facing the facts, no offense!
Well, naturally people here are going to say 'Balto' because this is, after all, a Balto forum for Balto fans, and I guess I'll just be with the crowd for once and say, 'BALTO IS WAY BETTER!' I love Toy Story, though. Actually, the second Toy Story was much better than the first in my opinion.
I enjoyed Toy Story. I thought it was a very nice movie, and comparing it to Balto is kind of hard since they are very different in both animation and story. I still like Balto more, but I liked Toy Story too.
Yes I still like Balto more, but Toy Story was very good as well. I also liked the second Toy Story too. 
what Oscar? Toy Story didn't win any Oscar's ( though was nominated for best score) Toy Story did win the Annie Awards though.

I think James Horner won the oscar in 1995 but with Braveheart.

Well, I liked Toy Story. Interesting characters, and I liked the plotline. "You've got a friend in me" was mediocre, IMO. Toy Story 2 was better than 1 though, with better songs and plotline. But one thing I don't like about Toy Story was the fact it was the main reason Balto flopped at the box office.

Probably because Balto wasnt heard or had enough comercials like the above mentioned, marketing is evil but a necesary evil.
People usualy are influentiable if a group of 9 people for example try to convince a 10-th they usualy succed (hate this).
