No, I'm not going into the light or abandoning the boards, I'm going to Zimbabwe, Africa. Specifically, I'll be in Harare and Chinyudze, the former being the current (they will soon move directly to the clinic) living quaters/office of the missionaries who run an orphanage, the later being the clinic itself.
My tentative goals are to:
1) Convert their newsletter system from snail-mail to E-mail format, since current Zimbabwe postage costs $8 USD to mail each newsletter, which each take two stamps, and with approximately 200 people to deliver to, this will save about $12,800 USD a year that can be better spent on the orphans themselves.
2) Give them a comprehensive method to use financial software for their financing/tax records, since they are a non-profit organization running from Florida in the US, they have to deal with Uncle Sam's rules, and the daily-changing conversion rate from $USD to $Zim. That means alot of hand-work for their book-keeping, and they are hard pressed to manage it.
3) Ensure that their desktop's modem is perfectly functional, and I'm bringing an extra 56K/V.92 PCI modem just in case.
4) Set up the several donated kids' computers with fun and educational software.
I'm not really concerned with my actual travel safety or health, as I don't think God's done with me yet. However, I would really appreciate prayers for me actually accomplishing all of my goals, and then some from any of you Christians out there. Hmm, maybe also a prayer that I remember to iron my clothes after washing them, don't want any flesh-eating maggots now, would I?
I'll be leaving Friday, the 4th, and I'll be back in the US on the 25th, but I won't be home until the 26th. I'm not sure whether I'll have Internet access, but I'll try to at least check my E-mail, so, if you want to contact me, that's probobly your best bet.

See ya'll on th' flip-side! ^^\n\n
