Update #1-Auditions for School Musical

I walk into the auditorium, and we have to pick numbers to find out what order we'll audition in. I pick a card, and I'm number...three! There are only two people that audition before me!

I try to relax while the first two people are auditioning. Then I'm up, and I start breathing faster. The auditions contain one boy with one girl, so I wait to find out which girl I'm paired up with. It ends up being...Hope!

Hope and I act out the scene, and then Hope sits down. Now I have to sing. By myself. In front of twenty-four kids and the two judges. After a somewhat shaky start, I sing my heart out. After I sang, I sat down again and received a few compliments.

Okay, so maybe that was a little over-dramatic, but that was how it happened. We'll probably find out the results in about two weeks...I can't week!

Mathcounts in two days! Yes!

Update #2-Mathcounts

A few hours ago, I walked into a UWGB building, not sure of what was going to happen. I had no idea of what I would accomplish.

One hundred sixty-one Mathcounts participants were there today. Unfortunately, I had to split up from the rest of my team while I took the written rounds.

I sat down at a table with two students from different schools and waited to start the first round. This round consisted of thirty problems, and it was always my strong point. I was slightly disappointed when I saw my score posted later: nineteen correct. But after I compared mny score with the others, I realized that I was at least in tenth place.

Then came the second round. There were eight questions in this one, and I usually did pretty bad at it. Boy, was I surprised when I got seven correct! That brought my total score up to thirty-three.

I glanced down the list of names and scores. I was tied for third place!

I sat down with the rest of my team and started breathing hard. Then they announced the top ten names: I was, of course, in that list.

I ended up getting sixth place in the last round, which was good enough to get a trophy. I'm still finding it hard to believe that I was sixth place out of 161 students.

Wow. I accomplished my goal, and next month I get to go down to UWMadison for the state round.

Update #3-Random Stuff

Another update...whee!

We found out the results of our musical auditions, and...I'm Willard! It's not the male lead, but it's the second biggest male part. Plus, it will be really fun to act out, so I'm ecstatic about it! LOL

The basketball season is finally over. (I never thought this day would come! Thank God! LOL) We had our tournament last Friday, and we lost both of the games we played in...oh well, our team stunk. I'm so glad that that's over! There's no way I'm going out again next year.

Upcoming stuff:
March 5-Mathcounts
March 23-My birthday!
