have we forgotten to enforce the rules about long signatures and one-line posts? Too many of both going on again...I was thinking signature lines were limited to 3 lines? we have people with paragraphs again, and people posting in chat style. It makes my head hurt...

One line posts, signatures

Signatures are limited to three lines, but they need to be managed manually. The reason for this being that IB counts HTML as normal characters, thus it's almost impossible to use the automatic character limitation without being unfair to anyone who uses HTML.
Well if the signatures are paragraphs or long poems, then that should be addressed. But if it spills over to a forth line, that's seriously nit picking.
As for the one line posts, I can think of one serious abuser. -_- Just haven't had the time to nag him about it yet.
Instead of anothing nagging public annoucement (people do get tired of those), the offenders such just be privately messaged and the problem worked out that way. If no one wishes to talk to the offenders, then point them out to me and I'll do it.
I'm just sorry that the hacks no longer work after upgrading the boards. It won't be until summer vacation until I get a chance to properly address the issue of hacks (to make our lives easier).

I have to say I agree with vesta, we are meant to inforce the rules so if no one wants to persue a line over the rule, then change the rule to 4 lines...
Even so I've had enough with Vesta and she is no longer a mod. She's done my head in and was only ever a mod as she convinced me that she would do the job (in my section which she didn't anyway) and that she *should* be my mod cos she should be at my right hand or whatever. her temper is too short and nasty and as I said to her earlier, she doesn't control her language and I can't recall a nice positive thing she has ever said here.\n\n

I was about to comment on that, Ac. I think she made things worse, for the most part. Like dumping gas on the fire, you know.
I was debating back and forth about that myself. As a lot of a the flame wars that occured here could have been quickly doused if she had been a bit calmer with her posts. I chalked it up to her just being fed up with newbies and needing a long break. I figured if you appointed her, you had a fairly good reason for doing so. So I wasn't going to undercut your decision by removing her status. ^^;
But I think you made a good choice in removing her. This isn't to say that I don't like her (she's pretty cool most of the time as a friend), but it's not good for a mod to be hot-headed and snappy. So I hope she's getting that needed rest from the community?
Hmm, I guess I'll be sending out a round of private messages to those who've exceeded the three line signature rule after I get home from work.\n\n
