Driving simulator

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm looking forward to GT4's release. (I can't help it; It's a curse of being a race car driver)

I posted about Gran Tourismo 4 on the old TIB, but that thread was lost. Which isn't really a bad thing because nothing stated there was really accurate. I wasn't even close on the release date. It was orginally going to be released in February of '04 (I think), then it was pushed back to July, then pushed back again to sometime late last year. Now it's been given the vague release date of Q1 2005. I don't when this game will ever be released but I am really hoping it is soon. Hundreds of real cars + real tracks + the most realistic graphics = Awesome.

So yeah. I haven't really said anything have I?

Does anyone else here enjoy racing games?

Over 600 cars dude...all perfectly modeled too. I am waiting for this game to come out also.

One other good series to look at is the Ace Combat Series. Very fun indeed. Echo, I am a HUGE racing fan.

heck yes! I race in and run a league for NR2003 online "ACRA",..website up shortly..lol...I also have all 3 GT games..cool stuff..lol

I've played the 1st one, but not the second and third, Yes I like realalistic racing games.

Yea, I can't wait for GT4 to be released, the reason why they are releasing it late because alot of people are asking for it to be online, and thats what they are trying to do i think, GT4 for PS2 is going to be awesome, also Forza Motorsport for Xbox is another racing simulation just like GT4 but better graphics, so GT has a competition =)

Ace Combat is a flight simulator, right? I haven't ever played that one.

Alpine, what didn't you like about GT3 specifically?

Not enough cars, and half of them had screwed up stock physics.

Ace Combat is indeed a flight sim.

I only have the third but i think personely that need for speed underground 2 is better you see i don't really like too many laps:) But i think that Gran turismo 4 is a good game.

I now own GT4 (technically...I'll get it the first day it comes out)...I reserved it...as for now, I think Driv3r will tide me over till then. XD

That is one of the reasons I like these simulators: their closeness to reality. The realism could've been raised dramatically by adding a damage model, but overall it is very close to real life. Being a racer myself, I don't like most games that provide too much of a handicap and make the task easier. I want a game that has long races and takes a considerable amount of skill to successfully compete.

I have played GT 1-3 and something i don't like in them is too many laps.The game is somewhat different from the other games.It's that it's almost like real racing cars no game has i wonder what GT4 would be like, might it become little like NFS underground and burnout.Anyway time will tell

GT4 will probably desimate the competition....a good site for it is www.gt4ever.com They have the official car list and tons of screenshots and pictures of the car testing and such.

I just picked up my copy GT4 tonight. I may even play it a bit before going to bed. Actually, I'm sure I will.

I never actualy been a race games fan, being more a RTS, TBS or RPG type, think from what i read around here that GT4 is a nice game.
I remember the last race game played by me was Underground 2 and the last GT game played by me was GT1.
Didnt have much interest in these games, anyway having fun with Rome Total War so i think that i wont have much time for someting else.
