A lone halfbreed walked along the snow, his head lowered as he looked to the opposite of where he was going. Behind him were a pack of wolves, glaring at him and snarling. Nanaki lowered his head, his ears drooping as well, as he continued to walk on forward. A growl escaped his lips as he turned at the glaring wolves, and growled even more as he then ran forward into the wilderness. Tears were streaming down his face as he ran forward "This isn't fair! Just because I am not a dog or a wolf I have to be shunned by both worlds!?!" The full moon's light hit against his fur gently, revealing his dark grey fur, as he raised his tair revealing that the underside was covered in a light grey color. He then stopped, as he let out a long howl into the night, he opened his eyes, they were golden except for the brown around the blakc dot. He ran up a nearby cliff, as he looked onward at a small town ahead, and shook his head lightly. "What am I to do?"

A stray female blue husky/wolf bore on in the alleyway. When she heard another approach, she ran toward the voice. She had heard this voice in the wind somehow. "Is this what the winds of Moon is telling me? That I should join a kind of mix?" She wondered into the moonlit streets and followed the howls into the darkness. As she ran, she heard snarls of Moon in her heart but, she outran the pack. Once she got to the cliff where a gray wolf was standing. She padded slowly until she was a fair three feet away from him. "Don't jump... I heard you from the town. I'm MoonCrest, the Moon's daughter. Who are you and why are you feeling bad about yourself? I heard you among the wind, you know." She paused and hushed herself for the male to speak.
He then turned around, and looked at the female canine, as he shook his head lightly. He then looked back upon the moon above him with his large eyes. "I am sadened because I am shunned by everyone, both wolves and dogs." Nanaki then turned to look at her, the one that called herself Moonchrest as he shook his head again. "You look different on the other hand...one that could possibly join a wolf pack or live around humans....you seem to got it made..me on the other hand..." A tear fell from his eyes slowly, as he closed them gently.
A faint yip was heard as Daokta, a young, stray Siberian Husky cross galloped into view, his mouth wide open and his tongue lolling out as he ran.
"Wow! Didja see that? Huh?" he said, panting as he wagged his tremendously furry tail. He stopped.
"Oh, er, sorry. Who're you?" the younger pup asked, "I'm Dakota." he stopped to pant. While he was running, he managed to overhead the conversation going on. "Oh, yeah...I'm sorry to hear that. But I don't exactly have a nice home, either. Or a home at that." he said, looking to the frozen ground. "But, you can probably hang around here! Hey! We can be friends!" he splut out all at once. "Er, but I should warn you. Stay out of Xue's way. He's one pushy malamute. He thinks he's better than all the dogs because of his 'best-in-show' blue ribbons and his 'top-of-the-line' pedigree. But we all know mutts around better!" he whooted aloud, cantering around in the snow. He sure had energy to spare.
He stopped. Speak of the devil.
Who better to show up, than Xue? The pampered purebred walked out onto the scene, doing his daily 'screening' of the town. He hardly permitted cross breeds, but wolves he could not tolerate. He froze, sniffing the air and laying his frozen brown eyes on them.
"Wolves?! Wolves on my territory?!" he barked loudly, his fur standing on end. "Who are YOU? What are YOU doing here?" he spat coldly, take a few steps up. He yipped sharply to Dakota, who in turn ran off a few yards. He stopped.
"I'll give you a word of advice, wolf, stay away from this town. You won't be welcomed here, as long as I can help it." he said, smirking, staring down the wolf cross.

He turned, glaring at this husky that called himself Xue, as he let out a growl "Listen....I am just a mutt, don't worry about me taking your place..." He then smiled as he walked up to him with a smirk on his face "So back off away from those who mean you no harm alright?" He continued to growl as he then walked over next to the husky that was before running around and happy. "Leave the little one alone...if you have any quarral let it be with me..." He continued to try and stare down Xue with his yellow eyes, as his fur bristled abit as he thought "If I going to die soon, it might as well be doing something good...." He then yelled again at Xue harshly "If the townspeople don't like my presence then that is there problem....I am who I am and as much as I may hate it, I have to live with it..."
MoonCrest kept herself frozen for a while now. She watched to two males talk to each other. She started to speak to stop the fight, "I ... Hope you can understand that I've been shunned out into this world since my young age, like you. I'm malnourished and underfed. I have no source of anyone to loook to. No one, like yourself, would take me into their home or their pack for they fear of me going into something else. I wait for someone to take in the daughter of Moon to give birth to fine pups. I am strong enough to last a lifetime with someone who understands me..." She quiets herself. With her intentions to the males, she askes herself, "What's going to happen?"
OoC: Poor MoonCrest...
OoC: Poor MoonCrest...
Xue growled louder and bristled further.
"Don't tell me what to do!" he snapped. "I am the leader, and what I say goes. And I say, 'GET OUT'." snapping at the wolf hybrid, his snarled, showing his long, pearly ivories. "I'll make sure the townspeople do not like your presence. That, alright?" he smirked, stopping, and taking a step back. He paused. Lunging forward, he snapped at the hybrid, only inches from the flesh. "That is my warn-" he stopped, as his master called for him. Growling, he walked backwards, not letting his back turn on them. "I'll deal with you...later..." he said, and sunk away.
"Wow, that was really brave of ya!" Dakota said, bursting out and running in circles. "Not many dogs have stood up to him!" He yipped, barked, and ran around bursting with energy. "Hey, hey, now that that's over, can we go play? Pleeeease? We can go by the fishing lake!" he said.

He looked over at mooncrest with large eyes, a smile going acrossed his face as he then asked her. "But you look so pretty, I would think that any human would pick you up, you just look so mystical." He then looked back at the other male husky as he then smiled "And think nothing of Xue...he doesn't scare me, he seems to be all talk, and hardly any action. Maybe I can go play with you, but only if Mooncrest comes with us...." He then looked back at her "That is if you want to...."
Dakota stopped and looked at MoonCrest.
"Yeah, why doesn't anyone want us?" he whimpered, letting his furry tail slink down. "It's not out fault we're not good...enough." he said, sitting in the fresh snow. The mixed puppy stood again, "Well, wow. I'm kinda hungry. You guys know anywhere to find something good? I didn't eat today, I couldn't find anything on the streets." he said, sitting again, standing, and starting to wag his tail, "Then we can play!" he exclaimed.

MoonCrest stayed in her harmony stance. She did nothing and said nothing. She has found some food in the garbage can before hearing the males' call for acceptance. But, she didn't take it along. It was some meat that was 'bad' for humans. Her heart raced at the sight of Moon. But, with some difficulty, she did not hear any of the words of the males.
He then walked back up to mooncrest slowly, as he waved a paw in front of her eyes "Hey...are you alright?" He tyhen shook his head from left, to right slowly. "If worst comes to worst, I can try and catch a rabbit or something, i haven't had much garbage lately, unless one of you two have a better idea...."
Summer,(a long-haired german shepard) was doing her usual routine, wake up, get out of nice cosy bed and look after the house. But she was in town because, well, the house can look after itself aslong as she was back at home before her owner, the town sheriff, got back.
"Alls clear"
She sniffed near the trees as a rabbit ran out past her...she had to chase it!!

He looked back, seeing a small rabit come out from the town as it ran directly towards nanaki, as his fur bristled and he growled lightly. "Well lookey here, dinner is served..." He then lunged toward the rabbit, his stomach growling in pain and hunger as he gave chase to the rabbit, his white fangs out and ready to bite down upon the rabbit, ready to end it's life to make it a meal for him and his new friends.
MoonCrest whined at herself. She prodded toward the rabbit but didn't do anything to it. When she stared down at the town below, she was reminded of her father, the Sun and mother, Moon. Her revolutional birth was eternal. She was one of those wolves that will live forever and not dying. She 'cantered' away to get something bigger and better. She disappeared into the darkness.
He continued to chase the rabbit quickly, unaware that another dog was giving chase to it. He then pounced upon it, quickly snapping the neck quickly as he smiled at his pride, taking in the blood slightly. He brought it back to the other dogs, but he didn't see Mooncrest. "where di she go?" He mumbled with the bunny in his muzzle.
She caught the scent of other canines and let out a low growl to let them know that she was present. She walked round a bush, not afraid, she could handle herself.
Looking on the floor she saw blood..the rabbit...some more dogs....
"ohhh hey you eat, you look like you need it."
"the names Summer by the way.......

Dakota watched as Mooncrest left, and walked a few inches before stopping.
"Where are you going...?" the pup squeaked after her, but did nothing to stop her.
He turned back to the wolf cross, eyeing the rabbit he had just killed. He licked his lips in eagerness. He looked back once more, trying to see if Mooncrest returned.
"She left, I don't know where she went..." the pup responded, starting to lick up some of the blood dripping to the snowy ground.
He flicked his ears around, as he heard the growl. He backed up a little, and yapped.
"Who's there?" he asked.

He then looked to the growl as well as he dropped the rabbit next to Dekota as he sprang forth and got in front of him, guarding the dog with his body as he growled back. "Who's there?"
MoonCrest came back with a dead fawn in her mouth. She was hunting like a shadow. She reappeared once she came into the moonlight. She dropped the fawn. "I got something for all of us instead of that thing." She pointed with her muzzle at the rabbit. Her tail was wagging excessively due to excitedness. Her smile widened and caused a bit of happiness. "Want it?"
He then turned around, a look of curiousity in his eyes as he looked at the dead fawn. He smiled as he walked up to her and gave mooncrest a friendly nuzzle with his nose. He then looked back at the fawn, and then back at the others, and then back to mooncrest again. "Of course we want it....thank you so much"
"Im Summer, i mean you no harm, I was just out patrolling, came across a rabbit and then you guys."
With that she lay in the snow licking at a trickle of blood in the snow.

A large and agile form watched them from the darkness of the forest. All that could be seen was two piercing golden eyes that had seen far beyond the owner's years. Avoiding the moonlight the shadow form moved swiftly towards the group. Sitting atop a large snow drift, illuminated in moonlight, the form of the alphena could be seen.
Her eyes were a strict gold, as cold as metal and 10x as hard. Her muzzle ended in a rounded point, her black nose blending perfectly in with her jet black fur. Her shoulders were broad, but as agile as even the smallest's dog. She stood at her full height, almost four and a half feet, almost a foot more than the average dog. Length wise she was 6 ft from tip of nose to tip of tail. A magnificent beast, it was easy to see how she had quickly taken the area of the forest as her home.
Raising her muzzle to the heaven's she opened her maw, letting out an ear splitting cry arise from her chest. Letting the sound drop back to almost a whine it rose again, to a high silver note, out of the range of human ears, but not the dogs below. Behind her she heard nothing, not the usual buzz of the forest. Nothing but silence. She smiled slightly. Even the forest knew when to quiet hearing the alphena's wolf name.
Lowering her muzzle she stared down at the dogs and at the meat. "Who are you dogs", she snarled down at them, the fur on her back bristling ever so slightly, her lethal fangs bared and gleaming in the moonlight.

Summers natural reaction was to glare her teeth and growl back, afterall she was pretty big for a german shepard an had her fair share of wolf encounters.
"My names summer......is there a problem?"
She glared at the large dark wolf, her fur stiffened on her back.
Evertime I come out there is always a problem, cant a dog be free to roam where she/he wants, she thought.

He looked up as he then let out a long howl of sadness at the top of his lungs as he looked back at the wolf. Growling in reply, he said in a low voice "My name is Nanaki, and I am no dog, nor a wolf....I am nobody." He then looked down, but shook his head getting rid of the sadness "What is it that you want?"
Shadow snarled and raised her head instictively. "Merely came to find out who was intruding pon' my lands", she snarled bluntly. Turning her shoulder to them she paced back and forth, surveying them. "There was another, a fem, where is she?" she asked scanning the group not seeing her.
He glared at her a little bit as he circled her slowly, trying to study her almost to find out her true intentions "Yeah there was a female here, I have seen lots of females around, what is it to you?" He continued to circle, trying to not let his guard down as he continued to glare
Summer growled.
Not liking the fact that she was being inspected, she snapped in refusal.
"hey, look we are just passing through...well I am, I live in the town and yes I am a dog, but lets just say that i am a dog with a wolfs heart, I shall leave if you wish?
She looked at the dark wolf, to the floor and then with a deep breath she looked up at the wolf again in a strong proud stance, waiting for a reply.

"Shadow... They're with me... I have been your friend since the beginning right?" MoonCrest nodded her head to show that she doesn't have to be mean about it. "I just wanted these wolves and dogs to get used to the wilderness. Except Summer, she has to go back soon." Her tail started to wag and her head lower.

Summers ears pricked up at the sound of her masters truck.
"I..er better get back, catch you later!"
And with that summer raced through the snow, a little upset leaving her new friends, Im sure they will manage without me. Mabe later at night she would pop out and try and see how they were. She ran up to the front porch of her home, made out as if she had been sitting there for hours.
"Hello girl, what have you been up to today?"
Her master grinned as summer jumped up and happily licked his face and bounded around til she felt dizzy.
"If only you knew,"she said to herself.

He watched as he saw summer run away, his ears drooping slightly as his eyes slowly closed, sad that she had to leave. He then eased up his growl, seeing that this Shadow and Mooncrest seem to know each other well. He backed away slowly, wondering what he should do, go into town to check it out, or stay here. Despite his urge to explore, he stayed there, watching mooncrest and shadow talk amongst themselves.

Shadow nodded looking at Mooncrest. Watching the other dog treck off across the snow and the other to look nervously back amoung the buildings of the town she smiled an icy glare. Leaping at the male she pinned him easily below her before getting off, an air of power that was hers by birthright around her. "First of all, this is my territory. Any rouges that wish to pass through have to answer to me first", she said her voice oddly calm.
Turning away from the two she padded back up to the rise. "For now you are safe, but be clearly warned, do not enter the forest without Mooncrest by your side, lest you parish, if not by my own fangs, then that of another", she spoke. With a flick of her ebon' tail she disappeared into the shadows of the woods.

Dakota danced as he stared at the rabbit, once more licking his chops.
"Hey thanks..." he said the canine who had given it up. He froze as he heard a high howl.
Looking towards the outskirts of the town, he saw the wolf.
"Who's that?" he asked, and continued staring.
He yipped and back up as the large pitch black wolf confronted them. She was huge. He lowered himself to the ground, looking up at her with frightened orbs. He barked up at her, but imediately afterwards shut his mouth. He listened to the others speak.
"Trespassing? Eh?" he asked, amoung the talking.

He then glared at the others with a small growl, but he shook it off quickly since he was not looking for anyone in particular to fight with. He wasn't trespassing, least he didn't feel like he was. He had delt with humans before, sneaking into there camps, trying to cope with them and share food, but they always threw stones and sticks at him to go away from them all. However this small town seemed different then the others that he had seen before. The ones he had last seen, were made of animal skins and the people within them had dark tan like skin but these humans were of a lighter color, something he had not seen before. This was the reason why he had the small interest to go within the town to look at the humans and perhaps....find companionship with another wolf, or dog....or even a human. He then remembered Xue, as he growled a little bit, but gave off a small smile instead. he wasn't going to head his words, no matter what he would have to confront someone. The wolf that was here earlier would fight him if he went back within the woods, and he would possibly have to fight Xue if he went within the town. He lowered his head, he thought he could probably take down both of them if he had too, but deep down he didn't feel like fighting the wolf. He had nothing against her, and she possibly for other reasons thought that he would shorten her and her pack's food supply which she had every reason to think of. He then sat down, pndering as to where to go to next.

Summer had had her fair share of steak and was about ready to explode. There was still plenty left,so as her master left her in what he thought was her secure kennel, she peeled off her collar and rope, picked up the steak, crawled out through the nice big hole she had dug weeks ago and tried to track down those wolves. This wasnt easy, their scent was sparce, she got hooked on something and went deep into the wood.........
MoonCrest turned her head to Nanaki and whined. She knew that he was safe of not trespassing when he's with her. "You're safe with me, you know... You don't have to worry about trespassing." She said, smiling. All she knew is that no one can kill her for anything. No one knew that she was already dead. She was immortal and knew everything about it. She kept to herself for no one should know about it.
"Hey...." He then sniffed the air slightly, going next to mooncrest with suspiscious eyes, as he continued to sniff around her body gently. He muttered to himself softly "There is no scent on you...." He realized that perhaps her scent was gone, being masked by the other canines that had come and visited him, but she had no scent even when they were gone. He stopped, looking up at her with large eyes "Why is it that you have no scent?"
Dakota soon got up, waving his fluffy tail and trotting back to MoonCrest and the lone wolf. quickly, he laid down beside them, resting his head on his paws. His eyelids flicked, and he let out a long yawn, almost starting to fall asleep. He stayed awake though, gazing up to the wolf hybrids above him. He soon grasped what they were talking about, and lifted his wet nose up, and tested the air.
"Yeah, there is no scent..." he remarked.
"Yeah, there is no scent..." he remarked.
MoonCrest smiled. She was nothing but a true, alive wolf. She had no scent on her though. "The reason that I have no scent is because I'm part spirit..." She answered them. Her ears bent backwards for she was a bit shy. "I'm the daughter of the Sun and the Moon.."
Dakota looked up at her.
"Huh?" he asked, a confused expression on his face. Of course, being a young pup he didn't understand these things. "The sun and the moon?" he asked again. He thought for a second. "A spirit? Like a ghost?!" he jumped up, yapping excitedly. "Whoa that's so cool and cooool..." he blabbed on, until managing to calm himself down. He panted, and rolled over. "Heeee..." he said again.

He looked over to mooncrest, his ears drooping as well as he looked to her with his eyes half closed "Born from the sun and moon?....a spirit....forced to wander this world?" He then looked away with his head lowered and his eyes closed "I had no idea that was what was going on....I am sorry"
MoonCrest giggled little. Her muzzle showed a sweet, innocent smile. "I was forced, yes. But, I can live forever and not worry about death. If someone mates with me, or so, that mate can live forever and have a new name. The pups can live forever too." She answered both of the wolf/dogs. She knew that it was impossible to get a mate who would want to live forever. "Would you want to live forever?" She asked.
Dakota giggled along with MoonCrest. "It would be so cool to live for a long time!!" he said, and wagged his tail furiously. But, of course it was a curse-type thing, and he still didn't get it. "That would be cool. So if you fell off a cliff...you'd, live? COOL!" he yapped and barked, jumping all around, and soon running around to burn off all his energy.
Shakes his head a little bit left an right, his head lowered "Many would love the gift of immortality, but it also depends on how the person would handle such a long time period." He then smiled, looking up to mooncrest as he grinned "If the mate that you were with, was in love with you, and loved you with all of there heart...then it would all be considered a blessing however...."
