Plagarism in fan fictions
What do you think of this vile practice?

Plagarism, or copying without permission by or without giving
recognization to the original owner. To simplify, stealing a work and saying it's your own. I want to know what you think of this sort of thing. C'mon, Balto fans, let it all out, (but just censor it, okay?)

as far as i know all fanfics about have been the authors original work, considering the size of the community if somthing were copyed it's more than likely it would be found out.
So as far as i know Plagarism is not present, thus making your topic pointless.

As stated *points* we do watch for plagiarism...if you see an example of that, inform a mod. We have banned people from TIB for art theft/plagiarism, and will continue to do so. It is not taken lightly here.

I have to say that, while it's practically impossible to have something plagiarized in this community like psychic said, I would absolutely despise anyone who does so. I'm a fanfiction writer myself, and i work for months on my stories. To have someone copy that work, claim it for their own, and receive credit and recognition because of it....*snarls*

As an author, I despise (more like LOATHE) plagarism, but so far I've never seen a Balto fanfic that used it. Most people have (so far, and that I know of) been very good about using original ideas, characters, and themes, as well as copywriting their works.
If I see any though, I'll tell you A.S.A.P.!

never liked these persons.
they usualy are people who have not even a drop of talent and try to get themselves noticed by breaking laws.

I dont' like to plagiarise!!!! However, I dont't think any of the stuff here on TIB is plagiarsed!!!!!!!!! So like psychic, this topic is useless.

To Wolfen: I think the actual purpose of this thread isn't to notify members of plagarism in fanfics here, but to warn them in the case that they may arise.
However, as I think the chances are slim, I have to agree that it doesn't serve much of purpose, but then again, better safe than sorry.

I don't do plagiarism. Once in a while, if I think a line in a book, movie, or TV show is hilariously funny, I'll put the line in a fanfic. But I don't consider that plagiarism. I would be seething if I found out that someone was plagiarizing my work.

This topic is pointless, plagiarism is theft and that is all in the rules.
