My review for Balto 3 is online :
HERE
I hadn't read Acanis' review before doing it... and I must say that they're different. Acanis' one is more detailed and don't exactly cover the same aspects.
The gallery is on the same page
BTW, Ac, I can't find the game or the trailer anywhere on the dvd!
Even when I explore the dvd on my pc...perhaps we don't have the same german version?
EDIT: Ooops, I've written the same title for the topic than Ac! lol sorry...
EDIT 2 : Ok for the game! I had to put the language into english to find it. By the way, something I don't mention in my english review : I'm really disappointed with the french version. In WQ, all versions were at the same quality, whereas in this one the songs in french are really horrible. Potatoes singing. And it's not the french voice for Sean Astin who is dubbing Kodi. The translations aren't very good (I already noticed that some sentences are completely different between the french and english version! ) And it seems it's the same for the german version. Even the game and the trailer are only available in english...
But, at least, they kept the french voices for Balto, Jenna and Boris since the original. That's the most important, after all. But all this may give a different feeling about the movie. 98-109132677022 Oct 2004, 15:44 UTC
Very well written, Steetboris! Again, like Fluke's no spoiler review, this one didn't have any either. Really like the screenshots, too, and it backs up your opinion very nicely! Thanks!

Very nice lil' review.:)

Thanks!
BTW, would it be possible for a mod to change the title? to not confuse people...

Hey steetboris!
Great review! The way that both you and Fluke have reviewed WoC has really made me want to be the first person in the US to buy it! (Not really, but if I could I would! ) Your screenshots show a lot of the beautiful backgrounds that I have heard about! Nice job!
It seems worth the money if you ask me!
(Oh, steetboris: I think all of Universal's DTV sequels are meant to be childish-like . . . that's sad . . . .)

Exellent review steetboris! very well done indeed. I hope People Who were going to rent will buy it now

Great review! I also like the way you've summed up the review with quick bullet points at the end and rated it along with the first 2 movies. I did plan on buying the movie all along. However your review and gallery (along with AC's) makes me want the movie all the more. As for being a film intended for children, I can deal with it. It doesn't sound like Universal went overboard.
*Edit*
I can rename the topic for you, Street. What do you want to call it?\n\n

Maybe Steet's review...?
BTW, I've watched some parts of the film in english, and it's really much better than in french...(that wasn't the case for the original or WQ) Much less childish...(but seeing anything in english always make things less childish, don't know why...) 67-106196056225 Oct 2004, 14:40 UTC
Not always. The English translation of the original Final Fantasy mangles the ending a little (in my opinion, anyway), and I would have to learn Japanese to see what Squaresoft actually intended for their game. (Or wait for the upcoming GBA remake, at the end of November).
Other examples from the first six games in the Final Fantasy series: the "Leap of faith" that a character did in the middle of one of them (nice try with the censorship, Nintendo. It was a suicide attempt), the phrase "You'd best be frozen!", permanent petrification that is later reversed just because it's convenient to the ending...
But this is really a topic of discussion for another thread. My point: not everything in English is less childish.
115-108568278525 Oct 2004, 17:10 UTC
No, that's not the same thing : I was talking in a non-english point of vue...that english people can't understand
About the FF, it's pretty common that japanese games are censored when they come out elsewhere. Well, it's still better than nothing (most RPGs don't see the light in europe) 80-109198451825 Oct 2004, 20:22 UTC
Very nice Review... and wonderfull screenshots =)
67-106196056226 Oct 2004, 00:30 UTC
Oh, I get you now. But even games that start out in America can be a little childish. Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest, for one.
I think, though, that the European RPG market is improving. Which is a good thing. I know how much it sucks, not getting games. *Cough*Final Fantasy III*Cough.* 68-108707261926 Oct 2004, 01:41 UTC
I want B3 even more! I love the pictures! I can't wait until it comes out! GRR:cool:

I have made a little update on my site, with a new Multimedia section for Balto 3 : for the moment, there are 10 new screenshots and a one minute music in mp3. I know, I am still against putting screenshots or spoilers of any kind, but that's what everyone is asking for, so...
83-108302525628 Oct 2004, 04:43 UTC
Nice music! Thanks steetboris
74-108043194728 Oct 2004, 17:18 UTC
Nice screenshots, Steetboris! I <3 the variety of pics! I haven't heard the mp3 of the music yet, but I betcha it sounds good! I think I'll check it out!
~Juuchan17
EDIT: I just heard the music. Very nice! Sounds very . . . . . inspiring . . . ick. (Who's singing? . . . . Is it who I think it is, or is it someone/something else?)
115-108568278528 Oct 2004, 17:55 UTC
In fact, it's a duet...and I don't think that they are known singers, but I may be wrong.
84-109898324828 Oct 2004, 18:07 UTC
Very good review, I also liked the screenshots very much. Although I own the movie already ^^ (I'm very glad to live in Germany
). Up to now I only watched it in english, I only watched a few scenes in german because I think the german translation is quite horrible (Baltos and Jennas voices are awful). 115-108568278528 Oct 2004, 18:14 UTC
Thanks, so it is confirming my opinion : they may release it in Europe months before the US, they didn't give much efforts in the translations (and especially the songs : listen to them in french...yuck!
)
And I'm glad that you liked my review, it means a lot to me since you've seen the film. Is there any points that you don't agree, though? 84-109898324828 Oct 2004, 19:40 UTC
I think I agree with you in almost every point ^^. But I don't think the animation is as good as it is in "Brother Bear" or "Spirit". I watched both and loved the animation very much. But although I think the animation in Balto 3 is very good for a direct to Video movie it isn't comparable with the other two movies, which doesn't mean it is bad, actually, just like you said, much better than in WQ.
BTW I really can imagine which sing you don't like
. And one more thing I make screenshots by myself. If you are interessed I can maybe send you some. Only if you want, it's just an offer. 115-108568278528 Oct 2004, 20:12 UTC
Ok
However, I didn't say the animation was as good as these other films, I only said the backgrounds were. As for the animation, I still think it is average for a DTV, with big differences between the scenes : we can nearly see the different drawers who worked on the film...that wasn't the case in WQ : the animation was always flawed.
About the screenshots, thanks but I can take them myself, although I believe it may interestest some people here who haven't seen it yet... 84-109898324828 Oct 2004, 20:23 UTC
Good idea. Why not, I can maybe send some. But I have no idea how to load them up, can you maybe tell me how to do it? I would be very grateful if you do.
115-108568278529 Oct 2004, 18:20 UTC
Hum, well I'm not sure where you can get a free ftp account (I always go on french sites for things like that), but you can still send them to someone by mail as attached files.
