I was looking around the internet for Balto 3 info when I ran into a Thailand site with a different cover for Balto II WQ.

Same front cover as here in Sweden (and the rest of scandinavia)
And a few other regions..  I don't know exactly.  But, I've seen that cover but, not the title name..
So Scandanavia is part of region 3?  Interesting.  How many regions are there, anyway?  And what countries are in these regions?
I believe there are 4 regions but I could be wrong
lol i know nothing of any of the regions. I just deal with what version of the movie i have here lol
Heh.
There's actual regions that determine which cover will be released and where? Or is there some other point to this system? I'd imagine there would be. What's the point of having different covers anyway? I've always wondered that.

I ask myself the same thing
To clear everything up, the world is divided into six regions, to prevent movies from being released all at the same time in every country. Why this is so, I don't know, but it is annoying.

The regions go something like this:

Region 1: U.S.A. and Canada.
Region 2: Europe, southern tip of Africa
Region 3: Parts of Asia and Phillipines
Region 4: Mexico, Central America, South America, Australia.
Region 5: Russia, most of Africa(why it doesn't include all of Africa is beyond me...
Region 6: China

Eh, I probably messed up some of that since it's confusing( most of Africa is Region 5, except the southern tip for instance), but that pretty much sums it up. ;)
Thank you very much, Aniu1983!  I also have to agree, this system isn't very convenient, but it's probably necessary, since the movie has to be translated again and again for all the languages in the world.
Hmm...
I still don't know if I see the point of this system.  The only thing I can think of is that it's really hard to release a movie all over the world at the same time in separate languages.  So, they devide it one region at a time.  And the covers are to differentiate.
Oh well.  Whatever the case may be, thanks for the info Aniu.
Worse than that, even in one region there are many different release dates, look at the different region 2 release dates for B3...And sometimes, the delay is more than 1 or 2 months. I don't know if it's the same with other companies.
And, this cover is exactly the same as the european version.
wouldn't it be neat thou, to own the balto movies in diffrent languages? now THATS a collection. :D
