I'm strongly considering doing a poll at TIC for this, but a little fun here couldn't hurt either. Place your bets and speculations now! When do you think Balto 3 is really going to be released?
I say January is an illusion created by some of us who felt the movie should be over and done with as soon as possible. Like in the Matrix, where there are no spoons, there is no January! Not for Balto 3 anyway. Taking a gamble, I'll randomly say March. I have no way of backing that up, but I'd like to toss it out there because it rhymes with Smarch, the 13th month of the 13th year. ^^
(Yes, I was being silly with the Smarch bit and stole that from the Simpsons.)

I'd like to say February cos it has a nice ring to it. I'm not sure though, perhaps April in time for Easter?
65-106196054202 Jan 2004, 18:44 UTC
To be really crazy I'll say February 19th, since "Wolf Quest" came out February 19th, 2002
. 78-107289307402 Jan 2004, 18:52 UTC
i am taking the wager, i will say it iwll be relesed by mid march to april, have fun wagering!
69-106279399502 Jan 2004, 20:08 UTC
I'd like to say January but considering Universal has absolutely no advertising I'm gonna say.......... hmmm............ March!
67-106196056502 Jan 2004, 22:52 UTC
I think it is going to be released on April 20th, which happens to be the day before my birthday (there is no connection ;) ).
82-106677497203 Jan 2004, 00:25 UTC
I'm going to say March/April.
69-106279399503 Jan 2004, 00:46 UTC
It definitely won't be any time soon. Universal Studios recently contacted me saying that there is not a scheduled release date. So I'm figuring on a couple of months yet. I'm sorry if I destroyed anyone's hopes and dreams.
106-106196082203 Jan 2004, 07:08 UTC
Maybe in December 2004. I really don't feel universal has their act together with this movie quite yet.
65-106196053804 Jan 2004, 12:28 UTC
May or June. That's what I say. I don't think it'll be SO late that it'll come out right before 2005, but I do think it won't be in April. Okay . . . I'll be more realistic. Hmmm . . . July! Yes, July 2004.
67-106196056205 Jan 2004, 22:56 UTC
I'm willing to guess... September. Don't ask my, it just feels right.
83-106196074107 Jan 2004, 01:45 UTC
how bout tween now and inifinity? ..
I seriously doubt it will come in 2004 , look how long it took for Balto II?
maybe 2006?
75-106196063007 Jan 2004, 02:31 UTC
Hmm..this should be fun. I'm never good at guessing, but I'll take June :P Don't ask me. Randomness! Probably even at 6:00 am on the 6th of June XD "Oh no! It's out! We're all doomed!"

It's been in production for the last year or so. It it came out in 2006, it had better be feature length quality for the long wait.
65-106294487019 Jan 2004, 18:16 UTC
Everything gets delayed nowadays... June-July i say... if not later..
83-106196074120 Jan 2004, 06:01 UTC
yea, Silver .. but we had to wait 7 years for Balto II.. even the credits say it was done as of 2000..
75-107461448220 Jan 2004, 16:39 UTC
Ugh... Balto 3... *shudders*
Well if 2004 is going to be affecting the movie industry as it's affected the computer gaming industry, it won't be released until later in 2004. Say maybe April-June, but I'm betting they'll force it out before the summer so the kiddies will have something else to rot their brains on during the summer.
Another idea would be to release it in Nov-Dec 2004 for Christmas, or wait until sometime in early 2005.
72-106196059920 Jan 2004, 20:34 UTC
I'll say October, just because no had guessed it yet.
80-107376962121 Jan 2004, 21:47 UTC
May time possibly? or just after...
65-107063589821 Jan 2004, 21:49 UTC
I'd say..........................maybe sometime March.
66-107407123829 Jan 2004, 15:02 UTC
I heard from Universal, that Balto 3 should be released in summer.
69-106279399530 Jan 2004, 20:05 UTC
Really 1982? Universal told me that there was not yet a scheduled release date. Well, I guess "summer" isn't that specific. If it is gonna be this year it needs to be soon or next winter. I have a feeling it will bomb if released in summer. (Maybe that is what they want?)
65-106196054230 Jan 2004, 21:04 UTC
I think everything is still speculation at this point, and that Universal doesn't really know when it will be released. And, I would think, Echo, that summer would be an excellent time to release the film. This is because that is the time of year when kids are free from school, sitting on their duffs at home in front of the TV, which would mean a higher proportion of them seeing commercials for the movie and begging their parents to buy it for them. Thus, the film in that event would be far from a flop, at least as far as profits go
.
It would be convenient if they released it this coming autumn or winter, since the film takes place in the latter season. But, I wouldn't mind seeing it earlier, perhaps in time for the one-year anniversary of my website. Actually, now that I think about it, I've completely forgotten what day last July I started my site
. 83-106196071601 Feb 2004, 07:44 UTC
Considering Balto 3, I see everything as speculation. By that I mean, I won't consider the release date final or true until it's been confirmed. Not by just universal, but by all of the places such as Amazon, Walmart, Overstock.com, local stores and in the occasional TV commerical.
68-108173602517 Apr 2004, 04:18 UTC
I say around Nov. or Dec.
74-108043194717 Apr 2004, 16:40 UTC
If you want my opinion, the sooner that B3 is released, the better! But unfortunately, it'll probably be released when heck freezes over . . . . . . . . but, the summer sounds nice . . . . .
I think the holiday season is best, so that a lot of kids can expect a copy of B3 in their stockings or under the tree!

65-107815589717 Apr 2004, 19:01 UTC
April 4th, 2063...or not.
Anyways...ahem...I'd have to say, realistically, around February or March. 80-108034711825 Apr 2004, 20:33 UTC
I would say,... June or August, well, that depends
83-108302525627 Apr 2004, 01:15 UTC
I say December 2005 though I hope I'm wrong and it comes out sooner than that
66-108022068727 Apr 2004, 12:36 UTC
Id say October or November 2004. I dont think Balto 3 is a Priority movie right now. It might be later but not now. I almost alway like Universals Movies so i bet it wont be to bad.
72-106196060927 Apr 2004, 15:05 UTC
I'll wager a 6-pack of root beer that B3 will come out in either December '04 or January '05.
83-108302525627 Apr 2004, 20:14 UTC
I hope Your right Hybrid(Crosser His paws and hopes aganist hope) I can't wait to see Balto 3. As for the Root Beer wager what brand?
74-108043194727 Apr 2004, 22:07 UTC
Hopefully, Barq's . . .. I luv root beer!
Can they just release it now? I can't stay patient for that long!!
~can.you.hear.me.now.universal?? . . . .I.hope.that's.good!!

83-108302525628 Apr 2004, 19:08 UTC
I'm sure it will be good (And Barq's is My favorite Root Beer too)
72-106196060928 Apr 2004, 19:37 UTC
The brand of root beer shall be whatever the winner of the wager want's it to be.*Nods* Barq's is one of my fav brands of root beer, but have y'all tried B.J.'s brand root beer? They make it on location in the restaurant and I dare say it tastes better than Barq's does.
65-107815589728 Apr 2004, 19:59 UTC
Root Beer is, by far, my favorite soda! I love it! Barqs as well as A&W are great as well. B.J's? Better?! I must try it!
72-106196060928 Apr 2004, 21:11 UTC
Yes, you must try it!
83-108302525628 Apr 2004, 23:24 UTC
I've nener tried BJ's Root Beer Either, I'm a Cherry Coke Man Myselfe. I'll Take Your Wager. (If I can renig on the Bet if I loose that is
) I say that Balto 3 will come out December 2005 72-106196060929 Apr 2004, 02:01 UTC
B.J.'s is a restaurant thats along the West Coast of the USA and is steadily making it's way eastward. They make several home-brewed beers (Which are far superior to commercial brand American beers. (IE: Bud light, Miller, etc.) They make their own root beer as well, and all of this is done on location! They have great food as well.^^
(Cherry coke is good as well.
)
Um, how can we wager against each other if we both wagered on the same release date?

But in seriousness, I'd say late 2004 or early 2005 based bits and pieces of information floating around. ^_^;

83-108302525610 May 2004, 07:02 UTC
I don't think Balto 3 will get a theatrical release, but if It did That would be cool

65-107815589710 May 2004, 11:54 UTC
A theatrical release would be cool, but it won't happen, I'm afraid. This is one of those direct-to-video things.
83-108302525610 May 2004, 22:59 UTC

65-108225821011 May 2004, 02:59 UTC
January?
It's May now and I haven't heard anything about a B3. I'm surprised that there's even gonna be one. 83-108302525611 May 2004, 21:48 UTC
January is still 7 months away, But I would like more info too
65-107815589712 May 2004, 17:31 UTC
Ah...yes...information is always a good thing. But ya' tend to get used to the lack of it after a couple months serving the Government...and that is no joke, either...I'm being serious!
Anyway...if anyone has anything new on B3 then please share!
80-108034711823 May 2004, 13:56 UTC
I wonder, if they are even making Balto 3, the infomation out there is not much, i have searched internet, newspapers, magizes, etc and i have not find anything good about Balto 3
83-108302525623 May 2004, 19:52 UTC
I think They are makeing Balto 3. The Info We have now wile not much is still to much to be faulse.(Or so I Think)
84-106196076024 May 2004, 05:36 UTC
I had a dream last night where I went to the mall and saw Balto 3 sitting on the shelf. My first thought was that I needed to get online and tell everybody. I don't know where that came from. I think I need therapy.
65-108501507224 May 2004, 18:05 UTC
I need to do some searches...find more info...it does sound rather interesting. But what will the plot be about? Hmm...
83-108302525624 May 2004, 22:12 UTC
So far all We know is It will about Bolto's Son, And it will be set in Winter. What I would like to know is wich one of Balto's Sons will it be Dingo, Saba, Or one of the three Pups that Wasn't named in Balto 2? I think it would be cool if it was masked Pup
74-108043194725 May 2004, 02:27 UTC
I still hope it has a more "original-first-movie" feel to it . . . you know, the original was focused on the magic and teamwork of dog-sledding . . . hopefully, Balto's unknown son has something to do with that . . . That would be a mighty fine sequel to watch, with all of the drama and action and such!
~when.is.it.coming.out??
65-106196054225 May 2004, 13:19 UTC
Actually, SimbasGuard, I think Saba was a girl, although I can't be certain, so don't hold it against me if I'm wrong
.
By what I've heard, this movie will be different from WQ, with a deeper connection to the original film. And, since we all know it takes place in winter, dogsleds should be a big part of it, I would think. 74-108043194725 May 2004, 20:33 UTC
YAY! That would be nice! It sounds like it will be a decently great sequel-movie! I'll only be happier when it comes out in "several years . . . . ." just kidding! . . . . . . . .

I know Saba was voiced by a Girl(Melanie Spore). I just thought Saba sounded like Boy's name. I too coud be worng
. I think You hit the nail on the head with the Dogsled raceing. Why else would the movie be set in winter.115-108568278527 May 2004, 20:05 UTC
I think Balto's son will not be one of the same litter of Balto 2.
Well it's just a guess...but considering it is a OAV, they often have no connection between them.
74-108043194728 May 2004, 04:04 UTC
I'm sorry, dude . . . . but that would suck big time! This so-called "Balto's son" would have to be from his first litter because if he wasn't, then that would make him and Jenna puppy-making machines! (LOL)
ANyway, if it's not his son, it could be his grandson, like one of Aleu's children who has a penchant for dog-sledding, not realizing that his own grandfather was famous for it. Now that I think about it, does Aleu know that her "papa" was famous for saving the town of Nome? Why and when would she have heard about this? And who would tell her? Was it Jenna or the hero himself?

Aleu has to know that her father saved Nome, even if neither of her parentes told her, which I'm sure they would have. With all of the gossip that floats around that town I'm sure a perfect stranger that came into Nome would have heard of Balto within the hour. After all, he was in several newspapers around the world.115-108568278529 May 2004, 20:28 UTC
I was making some searches around the net when I found that Balto 3 has been recently rated by MPAA, look at this page:

BUt can the dogs read? Who knows!
Anyway, Balto mentioned in the second movie that he was still teased for being half-wolf . . . . Strange, Aleu is actually a quarter-wolf, yet she still looks more wolf-like than "daddy" . . . (I just realized this . . . so slow . . .)
I doubt that she really knew anything about the serum run in 1925 . . . . the writers probably left that piece of information out of the story . . . . Now that some of the original workers of the first film have returned for the third movie, maybe this info will be reminded to the "audience" so that they realize that the reason the movies were even started was because of a brave dog that saved an entire town from destruction (in a sickness way, of course). . . .
One more thing, how much time has passed since the ending of the first movie to the start of the second? It's probably about the duration of Jenna being pregnant with her pups, with a few weeks or so before to start the whole she-bang . . .koffkoff . . . .
I'm sticking with my opinion that Aleu had probably never found out about her famous daddy . . . . .
~just.a.thought . . . .80-108034711831 May 2004, 02:51 UTC

Yeah I agree too, it's really strange that all the real events are completely forgotten. I guess it was a choice made for not having to explain this to people who wouldn't have watched the first Balto. Or it was necessary for giving a sense to the scenario of this sequel...
Remember the scene where the puppies are in the box waiting for people to adopt them, a boy says "Jenna is their mother" but no mention to Balto, as if everyone had forgotten what happened...

I felt like jumping into the screen and almost strangling that kid when that was said! "You idiot! Don't you realize that it takes two dogs to make puppies! Bakayaro!! Besides, not only is Jenna a beautiful purebred husky, but also her mate is the wolf-dog that probably saved your skin in 1925! Don't forget the wolf-dog known as Balto!!"
. . . .huff. . . . .huff. . . . . Thanks . . . I needed to say that . . . Anyway, my question is: Did the writers of the second movie even see the first movie, or else kow about the true story of Balto? From all of the forgotten pieces of the story that were left out of the sequel, IMO they probably saw it but thought that the story would be boring or something!
Also, I think that maybe if Balto told Aleu about his heroism with the serum run, she probably would have had a change of heart about her wolf heritage then she did in the movie. She thought that it was a bad thing because she wouldn't have a human to love her like her brothers and sisters did. However, because of her father's wolf senses, he was able to track the lost team, save the medicine, and bring it safely back the Nome. I think that's a good thing to have!

. The only mention of the first movie in Balto 2 is the box the puppies were in was is the same box the serum was in. That and Balto told the Wolves that He led a Dog tean before, And in that Kid's defence He was very Young. Maybe He didn't know it takes Two dogs to make puppies

Well, I'm hoping for a release in the United States in early December 2004, since the movie does take place in winter. Also, Universal would be making a good decision because people would put it on their Christmas list, driving up sales.

It would be cool
if Universal releasted "Balto 3" for Christmas insted of "Land before Time 11

Universal is releasing The Land Before Time 11?! Good riddance, I hope that this is the last sequel to this franchise. I tried to watch all the sequels for LBT, but I quit after LBT 4 after I thought it wasn't worth my time.

O_o you lasted that long through them? heh, i only saw the first one, then was bored out of my mind seeing the second. Anyway (on-topic) i'm also hoping that it comes between Oct. (like in italy) and december.

That's only a rumor(so far). It just seems to Me that Universal releases a Land Before Time Sequel almost every December so I just exspect it
With the new info(from steetboris)I think We can hope to see "Balto 3" January of 05. Even though I'll loose My bet with Hybrid

Well, the novelty of the movies lasted for about half an hour before it wore off. (Hopefully unlike Balto 3) I can still remember the plots, but the music went in one ear and out the other. I started getting bored after finishing LBT 2, though.68-108707261905 Aug 2004, 23:30 UTC
I'd say January/February for the release date. It's random of what they do.
