I posted this a while ago on my site, but I'm sure not everyone saw it.
I've found this page : HERE which gives official information, unfortunately in japanese.

UPDATE : This summary of the scenario comes from the translation of a netherland site :
Balto and his sled-dog friends are worried. The delivering of mail by
airplane is a big success and they feel neglected. Until the mail
delivery
plane crashes and Balto and his companions get to show their true
value. 65-106196054212 Aug 2004, 09:51 UTC
By what I got out of that, it seems to be that a pilot delivering mail crashes on a mountain(apparently in winter), and Balto and/or his son travels by sled team to rescue him.
Now, is that cool or what? It doesn't sound half bad to me!
Thanks for the info, steetboris, you're really good at finding new stuff!

There is something to look forward to!

Great! and since it's Release date there is almost the same as italy, it could be possible that the U.S gets it a little afterward or possibly sooner! lol it'd be great for it to come ot on Oct. 26 (my B-day)
98-109132677012 Aug 2004, 15:16 UTC
Sounds like a good movie to me!
I wonder what the game will be about then? Maybe one where you rescue the pilot?? 71-109168036912 Aug 2004, 15:17 UTC
Sounds better than it's predecessor.

Check this out: (price:Including tax 2,604 Yen (tax removal 2,480 Yen)..ouch..over 2,000 yen for it.. now that's just an insane ripoff!..XD..Later
98-109132677012 Aug 2004, 15:29 UTC
Well, 2604 yen is only about $23 USD. As for the 26,37 Euros that France is charging for the disc, it comes out to about $33 USD. THAT seems more of a ripoff.
Has anybody seen this site before? According to this, Australia has a release date announced for October 27, 2004, and that it can be pre-ordered. I'm not sure if you can pre-order from the other countries that have announced release dates. I'm not sure on the accuracy of this...

I saw the cover in Japenesse! It's cute... I hope B3 comes soon
And This is good news!
74-107034150012 Aug 2004, 19:51 UTC
So THAT'S what that weird thing in the background was!
Putting Balto in a hero's role again... nice. Might even tie up some loose ends that folks around here have been complaining about, like what happened to Steele. Maybe Steele's on the rescue team, but he's all the way at the back.
This has got me thinking... what if Balto's son is really just a secondary role? 80-109198451813 Aug 2004, 00:11 UTC
mmm interesting...
I hope some time cames to argetina =(
65-107836033813 Aug 2004, 00:46 UTC
Yay!!!!!!!It seems pretty decent to me.I think it'll be great!!!I only hope there are wolves in it.
84-108767392013 Aug 2004, 01:43 UTC
Wow!
That storyline actually aounds pretty dog-gone good! (no pun intended). Although, I'm not sure how "change" will come into play, it's exciting to hear that the theme of heroism might be brought back into the storyline. Whether it's Balto, or some other dog associated with him, I'm really optimistic either way! Looks like there might be something to look forwad to after all! *Howls in excitement*

It seems that Australia is really enthuastic about B3.
Here's another website that is accepting pre-orders.

Very true...I don't think that's the case here though..mainly because in the interview with the writers they had said the he would have a primary role along with Balto in B3...so I guess that's what it'll probally end up being like...71-109168036913 Aug 2004, 16:10 UTC

Good question. I have no idea as to the answer
Could They pull the movie off without a Villian?(I know It's a dumb question)115-108568278514 Aug 2004, 07:09 UTC
I didn't have the time to give my opinion, but this scenario seems much more accurate for a sequel to Balto to me
| Quote |
But it's only 78 mimutes long |
Shall I remind you that Balto 1 & 2 were 74 & 72 minutes long?
And, we don't know about the villains. We still don't know Balto's son name, either! Maybe some humans will take the role of the villains. But Steele's return seems unlikely.
If you wanna see another translation, by Gist in time:

Probably... Maybe Balto and his son have to fight against the weather...

66-109077823014 Aug 2004, 15:41 UTC
*nods* either that, or it's possible that someone related to the mail-carrier wanted to take him down or something...lol i'm just throwing out guesses hoping to hit something...
82-107524931914 Aug 2004, 18:31 UTC
I hope Steele isn't the villan in this movie. I think the villan in this movie should be a wolf. If Balto and his son are going to be saving human from a plane crash, a wolf villan would be perfect. Though it might upset those that are highly protective of the wolf.
70-106196059214 Aug 2004, 20:52 UTC
Maybe there won't be a villan.. maybe it will be Balto vs Alaska. Sounds like the first really though, Balto has to rescue someone stuck in the middle of no where, probably on the side of a mountain. Wonder if he will fall through the ice this time or remember what happened the first time and not cross the frozen lake :P
74-107034150014 Aug 2004, 20:59 UTC
I'll bet a free commission that the beginning of the movie is the end of Balto 2, and then suddenly Balto wakes up, rubs his eyes, shaking his head, saying, "Wooh, what a dream. Glad I'm not a father!" Then Boris runs up to him and says, "Balto! Great news! You're a father!"
"Aww crap!"
And then the movie goes from there.
Villain? The elements, or even time could make a good villain of sorts. Or the Bear could come back to get her arse kicked a third time...
Or there's super secret mail on board that plane that tells the government of a super-secret conspiracy involving lesbian soon-to-be-Nazi hookers hell-bent on taking over the world, and that mail has to get to Anchorage as quickly as possible, but the plane has now crashed, and Balto must save the United States by recovering the mail, stopping this horrifying underground organization from realizing its nefarious schemes!!
*gasps for breath*
Of course, this line leads me to believe that there will be a betrayal from within:

I would like to see a side story going on (like in Ice Age with the squirrel) of The real white wolf and Anui fighting it out.
By the way Balto's son is called "Kodi"
82-107524931915 Aug 2004, 00:20 UTC
You know what would make Balto 3 interesting? If the made Balto into the villan.
Which would make a good fourth movie, Balto decides to kill all the children he saved in the first movie.
"Kill the people he once saved" 112-109184433015 Aug 2004, 00:35 UTC
No there is no point in that.Because why would he become evil after all the things he has done
82-107524931915 Aug 2004, 00:41 UTC
It'll make for a more interesting movie, that's why. Either that or make his son the villan.
112-109184433015 Aug 2004, 00:53 UTC
Yea I guess making his son evil would be better.
84-106196075615 Aug 2004, 01:28 UTC
Wait..wasnt his son given away in the second one? Does Balto keep track of em all after they were given to families?? whaaa?
Personally I think that Steele/a wolf as a villain would reuse thigns too much. They need a newer thing like maybe a hunter gone mad or an evil musher or something different to keep things interesting. Or maybe...maybe the "villain" is just the arctic elements. Eh? Eh?
This one better not suck or I'm gonna start crackin' skulls.

Ooh! Interesting! How'd ya find this out, Fluke?
That's an interesting name . . . . Kodi . . . . . reminds me of "Koda" from "Brother Bear" . . . . . . . .
I wonder, does his name have anything to do with Alaska? My only reason for asking is, for example: Aleu was probably named after the group of islands in Alaska. Can you back this one up?
So far, so good!
IMO: I think the villian will most likely be a human. I mean, humans hated Balto at first because of his wolf-like appearance and such. What if one/some of them still have a grudge on him?83-108302525615 Aug 2004, 07:20 UTC

I didn't remember how long the first Two "Balto" movies were. I just thought They were to short(Wich is a complament to how good They were) Knowing that "Balto 3'" is longer than either "Balto 1 or 2" makes Me feel better

Like the hunter Balto attacked in B2?83-106196071615 Aug 2004, 16:19 UTC
The storyline seems interesting, and I find myself feeling optimistic. Maybe this will be the movie that Balto 2 should have been?
Either way, I'm getting my paws on a DVD as soon as it's avalible.
While I don't think Steele's returning, it'd be a bit weird to see him as villian again. I mean with the exception of TV shows, animation doesn't usually recycle such things. And considering the first Balto and Wolf Quest, I don't think it'd be a wolf either. It would pretty much undo all that first two films did.
I find the idea of a villian being a human to be much more creative. The weather could work, but it's hard to give that a really good personality. Then again, Jack London did it. Hmm.... 70-106196059215 Aug 2004, 18:19 UTC
If they used the elements to be the enemy it wouldn't need so much personality, it would just have to do its stuff. Look at the original though, the artists had many different versions of snow for each scene that brought it to life more. Same could be done in B3. Infact if you took out Steele, the original is really Balto vs Alaska, the fight of Steele is really a side story as he tries to rescue the team which is the historic side and the point to the movie.
84-108767392015 Aug 2004, 21:18 UTC
A lot of exciting info, a lot to look forward too. Come to think of it, I'm not really sure what to expect as far as the antagonist goes for this story. From what I could make out on the cover, I didn't see anyone in the background that was "evil" looking. I remember that Steel, and Niju were both on the covers of the prequels (at least on the U.S. covers). I doubt Steel will return, which is dissapointing, asI would like to see him make a comeback. I don't like the idea of them creating yet another villian in this series. And Balto vs. the elements sounds kinda weak to me. But, I guess it could work.

Heh. That would be really funny. It would basically be the original writers shooting down the creators of WQ, saying that that storyline wasn't good enough to be real.
But, whatever the case may be, I'm seriously thinking about ordering the movie from overseas when it comes out in October. Because from what it sounds like, it may not be hitting the US until early 2005. And I'm not gonna wait another 4 months+. I can't wait to see it! 80-109198451815 Aug 2004, 23:32 UTC

I leave for a few days and I end up missing 4 pages of valuable information.
Anywho, I love speculate as much as the next guy, but in order to not crush my hopes and dreams, I'm just gonna wait it out and see what Universal has to offer. It's not that I don't think it'll be good; I just don't want to get all these ideas in my head and end up disappointed.
And to divert from my almost pessimistic attitude, I would like to state that I am really looking forward to this movie (as most of you probably are).
And on a side note, I just made my 500th post.

I agree with you there, Echo-husky (congrats on your 500th post btw). Wondering what'll happen will make the wait more excruciating, so it's best to just hope/pray that the movie will be a good one, which it probably will...

Amazingly enough I'm a little optomistic about this one too, whereas when I heard what b2 was about I figured it would be bad. I just hope that Boris and the polar bears aren't as extremely annoying as they are in B2. I still think I'll rent it before I buy it though.115-108568278516 Aug 2004, 07:48 UTC

Actually, this is Kodi, not Cody. But I noticed the same thing, as well as Koda from Brother bear.
As for the netherlands site: in fact, on the russian site, it is written: "production site: netherlands" so perhaps it is not really the russian date but the netherlands date. If this release date is true, I might try import it from there too, since France seems to be (for now) far the last european country where it will be released, whereas Netherlands are only a few miles away...
EDIT : Here is a list of netherlands shops selling Balto 3, four of them are stating it with the same release date : September 30th, 2004, so the netherlands will surely be one of the first country to have it. (with russia) 83-108302525616 Aug 2004, 09:23 UTC

I wish we knew more info about the movie though. Maybe new characters (besides Kodi), some of the challenges they have to go through, maybe some teasers . . . . .
Oh well! Bah!
It still sounds pretty interesting!

Since I'll probably like the sequel, I think I'm just going to buy it on DVD.
115-108568278519 Aug 2004, 12:28 UTC
I don't know, but seeing they aired the second on Cartoon network in the USA before it was released in DVD, and that it was a success, I think they will do the same with B3...
83-106196071619 Aug 2004, 16:09 UTC
It may or may not be aired on CN. I wouldn't be suprised either way. It was a success for the movie, but a disaster for the fandom. Because some people choose to see the movie on CN, while others decided to wait for the DVD to come out. So the spoilers were out of control at times. X_x
115-108568278522 Aug 2004, 21:40 UTC
I've updated the topic with the translation of a netherland site that provides a summary of the scenario for the film.
This is the complete translation:
Balto and his sled-dog friends are worried. The delivering of mail by airplane is a big success and they feel neglected. Until the mail delivery plane crashes and Balto and his companions get to show their true value.
This high quality animated movie is made by Steven Spielberg's Amblimation Studio. From the writers of "Barbie In: The Princess And The Pauper" and "Littlefoot And His Friends (Land Before Time)". The character of Balto is based on a true story. Balto is not just a story about a dog, it's a story about the value of nature, self-discovery and adventure.
A bit different from my interpretation of the japanese information. Pretty cool, don't you think?
I think this is a much better scenario to stick with the first! Too bad they mixed the information on B3 with things related to the first...
By "Balto and his sled-dog friends", do they mean the trio? Me want more info
66-109077823022 Aug 2004, 22:33 UTC
lol shouldn't Balto be used to feeling neglected? Anyway, if it's "Balto and his sled dog friends", does that mean that Balto's been on the sledding team to begin with? and if so, why was he always at the trawler in B2? *confused*. It's probably his son, at least i think. And if the trio is in it, i wonder who'd do the voices...

Sounds interesting, also it does seem a bit more historical than B2 andm ore like the original. Planes and vehicles would have slowly replaced traditional means

Yeah, that does sound like a good plot. If Balto's friends are in there, I guess the trio might make a comeback. As long as we don't get another trio... *shudders*
As for new release dates, this site from Switzerland says that the release date for that country is October 14.

That's one of the best summaries I've heard to date. I fear that there might be a new set of dogs, but it's too early to say. I'm just looking forward to the film, when it's finally released.

As far as I know the Trio's voices are all Voice Actors by trade. Nikki's voice(Jack Angel)has done many voices. so if the Trio returns(And I think they will because it dosen't make since to Me to introduse a new one)I think their original voices wll too. That would be cool

Don't forget the artworks...these dogs will probably look completely different, but they will still be in the film! But, I hope that doesn't prevent them to bring back the original trio.
This site says "Carl Weathers" will be a voice actor, is he famous? 83-108302525623 Aug 2004, 06:19 UTC
