OK guys I have just updated my site with a huge Balto 3 gallery! There are images of new characters and you may see a spoiler but most are quite meaningless without knowing the movie.
Take a look if you dare.. new section under Balto 3 on the left, http://fluke.theicecave.org/main.shtml 83-106196074118 Oct 2004, 12:20 UTC

"I'm loving it!:
..
Balto looks awesome! and Morse and Doc are back
.. not sure about the Trio though.. probably not..
nice to see a pic of Kodi and Jenna.. too bad Aleu and Jenna didn't spend much time together..
the moose and Stella ( is that her name ? the goose) I'm not to crazy about though *shrugs*..
sorry, but I couldn't help but laugh at the Universal logo.. I guess it's a reminder of what time period we're in..;)
yay Rosie! *woot!* her eyes look big ..
I hope the brown terrier dude isn't as annyoing as the Scottie in WQ *cringe*
o.k about Kodi, the line or mark that goes from his to face is annoying..
other than that . it looks really good. can't wait for the review! 70-106196059218 Oct 2004, 12:42 UTC
Just wait till you see Kodi animated.. that mark on his nose really helps remind you his is Balto's son.
71-109168036918 Oct 2004, 15:07 UTC
Wow morse and doc are back. That's cool to see two familiar characters. Jenna looks a little bit more like Jenna from the first one, and they just look better drawn than in WQ. Can't wait now.

Thank you brother!!

Dude! Those pics rock! You are awesome, Fluke! Thanks for the Kodi shots!
But I do have one question. I guess everyone has discovered that Rosy has returned for a bit in WoC, but why does she still look the same age as she did in the original film? Hasn't it been at least two or three years since the original took place? In the original, she looks around 8 to 10 years old (or younger), so doesn't that mean that she should be about 12-ish by now? Or at least taller . . . ? Just wondering . . .
The Kodi/ Jenna shot was the best IMO . . . . It's strange . . Aleu and Balto had similar looks and Jenna and Kodi look similar/almost identical . . . . but he is does have slight wolfish characteristics by looks . . . . IMO . . . .
But it is great to see some of the old characters again . . . (can't keep that a secret anymore now . . . it's already on the thread! . . .)
Again, thanks for the pics! Maybe I will try to draw Kodi fanart soon!
And my question has been answered at last! (Kodi is a Jenna-clone . . la la la . . . . and his eyes are brown, not blue as I had originally thought . . .)

I think that most likely the pup that is beside Balto is Kodi . . Why?
1: His markings . . .
2: The brown eyes . . . (even though I do believe another Jenna-clone has brown eyes too, but this one looks more like Kodi from WoC)
3: Closeness to Daddy ? ? . . . . . maybe that hints the upcoming WoC . . . .
I think that's it for this rant . . . Thanks again, Fluke!

I'm glad you have posted a picture from Wolf Quest.. compare that to the ones from B3 and you can see the quality difference. There is something just not right about Balto in that picture and I think they got it pretty close in B3

Yes.. some old characters is back.. Wich is good.. But.. no trio >_< or steele.. meh :/
70-106196059218 Oct 2004, 19:57 UTC
Oh Juunchan I think your right and that is Kodi because.. well you will have to wait and see
Asgeir have you seen it? If so you didn't notice Kaltag? Not sure how Steele would fit into a new one without getting cheesey or repeated. I don't think the dog who played Steele in the movie has time to return anyway, he is busy filming that online Zombie movie... 100-109802606618 Oct 2004, 20:14 UTC
Hey there!
Wow, Fluke, you really picked some nice frames from the film. I do hope others will honor your requests not to post these pics on their sites because it might spoil first viewings of the film by those who wish to steer clear of visual/story information until they are able to see the film anew.
I realize some people just want to seek out whatever they can see as soon as it's available. Your frame posts serve as appetizers for them.
It's meaningful and important to me that YOU are the one accesssing and posting the frames and not me. Having a true Balto aficionado like you generate these frame-grabs is not the same as me doing so, particularly this early in the game.
Juuchan17, your observation about the pup Kodi (next to Balto in the B2 still you posted) is right on. Nice work! The frame grab featuring the young, "ageless" Rosy falls within the context of the broad opening song montage, which does take some liberties in terms of adhering to the timeline in which this story takes place. In other words, because it's a song montage, the scenes in it don't necessarily abide by normal timeline constraints. Rosey has not aged here (in fact the frame grab is a snapshot from inside her dream: but the Rosy we see having that dream has not aged either! ). The only context in which we see Rosy is in this montage, not in the body of the rest of the film. I'm impressed by the thought behind your observations on the subject.
Starlioness, your comment about the brown terrier dude cracked me up! This one is played by David Paymer and, while he's no frenetic B2 Scotti, he's annoying in his own right! Oh well, I guess the young'uns like some things that just, well, don't do it for the rest of us. I'll give 'em that if I can have my fill of the cooler, more epic stuff. WoC has that is spades.
Okay, speaking of work, I've got plenty to do!
Happy soaking, rainy California Monday to all,
dwk

Wow! I was right about Kodi?! Cool! Thanks, dwk! To tell you the truth, when I saw one of the first covers (thanks to steetboris), I thought that Kodi was one of the blue-eyed pups on Balto's back in this picture (due to the changing face markings):

Then when the Japanese trailer first appeared, I soon realized that I was wrong (I just couldn't see his eyes though). But now with Fluke's screenshots, I was able to eliminate most of the pups to figure out which one was Kodi. (and to think I originally thought that Kodi would be considered as Balto's "adopted" son since all of his pups were adopted, and Aleu was now on her own)
So I'm guessing that the dark-red pup on top of Boris here is also Kodi, right?

I think it's sad that Rosy only gets a song montage appearance, and still hasn't aged yet . . . . Anyway, how many years has it been since the events of the original Balto? I know that in WQ, at least a year had passed (pups grow up, you know), so maybe it's about a few months after the end of WQ (my prediction). Do you know this, dwk?
Actually, when I first heard about the production of WoC, I had a prediction of the basic story (before the cover was released of course): Since it was "focused" on Kodi and was going to take place in the winter, I had a hunch that the original concept of dog-sledding would return in Balto's latest adventure. I also thought that Rosy would become a rebellious, young preteen continuing with her dreams of becoming a musher (with Jenna, Balto and Kodi in her team). Of course, she and her team would have probably been criticized and teased (with a female musher and a wolf-dog . . ), but in the end, they would work together to prove everyone wrong . . .
Yeah, I know my original prediction sucks, but at least I was right about the dog-sledding part . . . .
Still, I'd like to create a preteen/teenage Rosy one day . . . maybe in one of my next fanarts (after I draw Kodi! That's my main one at the moment).
I hope everyone enjoys my very long "WoC" prediction rants . . . . Later!

Thanks DWK that means a lot to me
I did try to pick out some nice frames that didn't give too much away, viewed on their own out of context (I hope) they don't give anything away.
There were so many to choose from though, it was hard to decide which to go for! I am sure I will add to them though as time goes by.
I just can't wait till everyone can share my enthusiasm for the movie too! I don't think many people will be disappointed with it this time! Now we just need some Balto 3 merch for us to buy off eBay or something.. especially those of us who don't have much Balto stuff left to buy!
And to those talking about Kodi(ak) he is a really great character, well acted and very well animated. You can definately see Balto in him!79-109362624018 Oct 2004, 23:48 UTC
love the screen shots! i noticed that you didn't post any of the bears
love kodi! he might be my fave for this movie. and it's wonderfull to see some old faces once again! 65-106294487018 Oct 2004, 23:59 UTC
Hey Fluke.. can you bring a Screengrab with Kaltag?.. would be neat!
79-109362624019 Oct 2004, 00:55 UTC
yeah more pics would be neat. but don't rush, take your time and do them when you have the time and patients.
83-108302525619 Oct 2004, 01:44 UTC
It's been said before so I'll say it again, Thank You Fluke. And nothing in Your Gallery was a spoiler to Me
79-109362624019 Oct 2004, 02:37 UTC
yes, nothing was spoilerish. you did a great job in making sure nothing was spoiled for us deprived americans.
100-109832446621 Oct 2004, 06:06 UTC
I wish balto 3 would come out faster...I can't wait. However, it really was nice to see that the old characters are back!
65-107815589721 Oct 2004, 12:36 UTC
*nods* Indeed, de_whitewolf....I wish it would, too.
OMG....old characters!? YES!! Gaaaaahhh I cannot wait! lol...those are some awesom screen grabs, Fluke... (probably the ten-thousandth time I said that or something like that...lol)
And, I am glad that the screens provided were not very "spoilerish" (to use Ookami's words..lol) as well. They are perfect...especially for letting us know how much better the drawings and character designs are than WQ....
115-108568278521 Oct 2004, 14:08 UTC
Now that I've seen it, I've no problems to see this gallery.
Yes, these are good screenshots, even though I believe that in fact, it looks better with still screenshots than in animation. I'm not saying that to disappoint you, but it's what I think. Don't worry, the animation is still better than WQ

Hum...I don't think it will be spoilers, if I say that it takes place in 1928 (the original was in 1925, remember?)
BTW, I will soon put a gallery on my site too, I'll give you a link to it here. 98-109132677021 Oct 2004, 21:12 UTC

No, I don't think it gives too much away. Since we see Kodi as an adult, it would make sense that a couple years passed by after the original Balto. And I'm looking forward to your gallery, Steetboris!
I didn't see any spoilers in the screenshots either. All I saw were pics from a movie which looks to be a step above B2 in animation quality, the return of several old characters, and the addition of several new ones. Thanks, Fluke!70-106196059221 Oct 2004, 21:35 UTC
I'll leave out screenshots of Kaltag for now, I will let you guys wait and see him for yourselves I think!
I wasn't going to say it took place in 1928 Steet to avoid any sort of spoiler for everyone..but now you have said it, yes everyone 1928, which means there is about 5 years of Balto sequels to go before he dies in 1933.
I'll add more soon
115-108568278522 Oct 2004, 07:19 UTC
It's really sad to see that Balto is getting older and older...
*Time flies...*
Does that mean there won't be 12 sequels like LBT?
83-106196071122 Oct 2004, 08:06 UTC
Thats great to see Morse and Doc return!

Yeah, and since Balto is getting older, does that mean the same for the other characters?
I'm sure Universal has learned their lesson with sequels after LBT and will not make the same mistake with Balto. Even if there were more sequels soon, wouldn't there be some info out already?
70-106196059222 Oct 2004, 18:19 UTC
Well as I said in my review, I hope there are no more sequels.
66-109676690322 Oct 2004, 19:18 UTC
I love the pics,Im going crazy to see the Movie know. I might go insane if I don't see the movie soon. Im glad that moris and doc are back to.:D
83-108302525623 Oct 2004, 04:10 UTC
As far as age gose Muk and luk are stuck in a time warp HA! HA! I could see maybe one more Balto movie, But I doin't really think that will happen
71-109168036923 Oct 2004, 04:50 UTC
I'm hoping that they quiet at three. It's a nice ummm odd number. lol Trillogies are nice.
83-106196071623 Oct 2004, 05:20 UTC
Three movies are good. Many movies tend to suck. Three Balto movies, three TLK movies, three Matrix movies, ect. Those concepts, I like.
Hmm, and Kaltag does return? I hope February comes soon. Or that I flash my DVD rom soon. Either or works for me.
115-108568278523 Oct 2004, 05:52 UTC
I'm really not sure they will do a fourth. I believe that it would start to become repetitive, except maybe if they can make something completely different with the same characters...but seeing that WQ wasn't a success...
68-108707261923 Oct 2004, 18:20 UTC
Fluke, your dog mix isn't letting me save the Kodi pics. Can you help me with that?
70-106196059227 Oct 2004, 18:01 UTC
After some requests, I have added more screenshots mostly of Kodi this time. Enjoy!
79-109362624027 Oct 2004, 18:10 UTC
i like the close up of kodi looking sad.
this movie looks a heck of alot better than WQ, art wise. can't wait to see if you add anymore. keep up the wonderful work, fluke, we really appreciate it.
74-108043194727 Oct 2004, 20:00 UTC
Thanks for the Kodi pics, Fluke! I think all of us appreciate them a lot! The full body pics will help me with my Kodi fanart coming soon!
I noticed something when I looked at the Kodi pics: His coat really makes him look like Balto's son (unlike Aleu; she looked more fluffy in the front, while Kodi doesn't) . . . . . Also Kodi seems to have a fox-like look about him (note: look at his ears, especially in the close-ups). Of course, these are just my opinions!
I'll be sure to post my fanarts of Kodi for you guys very soon! Thanks again, Fluke! You're awesome!
