Well, I just finished watching WoC on DVD, and it's undoubtedly a beautiful film. I'm taking screengrabs for my website right now...it seems I'm stopping every few seconds to take one, LOL! I'm glad the background artists from WQ returned: the backgrounds are amazing!
I have the main theme stuck in my head now: I wish there was a soundtrack, but, oh well. At the very beginning, right before the opening credits, the flute introduction reminded me a lot of WQ, very cool. The music score as a whole is wonderful.
And, hey, Jenna's got her old colors back: pale orange eyes, bright red fur(not mahogany, as in WQ), even the black tips on her ears. Everyone else seems better animated too, and the new chars are great. Yes, I love the songs, too. I even like Stella
She rocks.
LOL, poor Boris. The situations he's been in(his plane escapade was hilarious). I feel sorry for him
I thought what Duke did for the sled dog team in White Mountain was sweet: he used the excuse that he had to de-ice his plane, but I know what he was really thinking
I have so many thoughts running through my mind, I don't know which ones to post. Oh, yeah, I was going to ask: where's the infamous "What the ff!" line I heard about? I listened for it, but I must have missed it somehow.
Now, back to taking more screenshots... 115-108568278502 Feb 2005, 08:01 UTC

I agree with that, it's definitely not a usual thing for a DTV sequel. I especially like the WoC ones because there's snow, and I love snow

Me either, But I did Here Dipsy Say "What the" Under The Post office. I kind of thought Duke was trying to give Balto and His Team a chance when He stoped to De-ice His plane, But if He hadn't done that He might have crashed somewhere much worse65-106196054202 Feb 2005, 08:46 UTC

That is true, but he got this look on his face like he was doing it for the team. Maybe it was both reasons, who knows.
I thought it was weird when Balto said, "My god, it's here!" That seemed out of character, or something. But I guess Cliff and Elana know their characters better than anyone else.

Yes, it was a beautiful improvement from WQ, indeed. I would like to see some screenshots (mainly of the puppy flashback . . . I wanna see if they got all of them this time around!

quickie question: how many songs are there and who sings them? I know "you don't have to be a hero" is sung by Jenna . but who sings "everything flies"?sounds like a duet or something. and there's still Stella's song right?
I found it odd .. that my local grocery store was playing WOC yesterday and already had copies of the movie. while Mulan II was nowhere insight
or maybe they haven't gotten it yet. 71-109168036902 Feb 2005, 16:27 UTC
I thought it was a big step above WQ. If anyone wants to read my review here's the link:

I caught the tail-end of WoC when it came on CN, and I had to agree while the computer-generate addtions were a bit too obvious for my taste, overall it was beautiful.
It comes out on Feb. 3, right? I thought that was kind of neat because it's one day after the real Iditarod begins.
71-109168036902 Feb 2005, 18:52 UTC
It came out yesterday.
74-108043194702 Feb 2005, 18:53 UTC
Umm, it was released yesterday (although I couldn't find it anywhere).
I'll try again later this week or later tonight! Wish me luck!
[EDIT]
Starlioness: There's only three songs:
- Everything Flies
- Stella's Song
- You Don't Have to Be a Hero
Thank God! I'm glad they're wasn't too many songs . . . then it would be Balto: The Musical! OMG . . . . I can't picture that . . .
75-109926563802 Feb 2005, 20:41 UTC
I did not hear that part but I did hear Dipsy say What the..?
under the post office when she was listening for information.
78-110711749703 Feb 2005, 02:39 UTC
Really?! I talked to at least seven people who said it came out on the third!
Rrrrrr. Ah, oh well- Balto 3 is here!
Lol- I'm so stupid sometimes.

I Think You're Right
Balto saying "My God" surprized Me more than any other line in the movie. I also think Cliff and Elana know there characters better than anyone and I really hope that If their is a "Balto 4" They are the ones Who write It. The more I wach "Balto 3" The more I like It65-106196054203 Feb 2005, 15:31 UTC
I was going to get it at Costco(my dad got it for me as a little 'errand'--I paid him back). It wasn't there, which surprises me since that's where I got B2 three years ago. Anyway, he did find it at Freddy's(no pun intended!)thank goodness for that.
Weren't there five songs in WQ? Interesting that there's only three in WoC, and it's slightly longer than the other two as well. Not that it bothers me, I just happened to take notice of it.

There were Four songs In Wolf Quest, But You're Right It is good That Universal is cutting back on the songs. I hope thist will be a growing trend. Stella's song, In My opinion was Not needed(Jean Smart is not a bad singer). I would rather have seen Kodi go to Balto to ask for His Help100-109832446604 Feb 2005, 14:21 UTC
Yea, even though I don't like singing characters, I found out that the song in WoC isnt that bad...
83-108700781304 Feb 2005, 16:44 UTC
I loved Balto 3. Jenna singing was a nice little surprise. I agree the characters were ten times better animated. Balto has his yellow eyes back!
I saw a lot of Balto 1 in Balto 3. Like the part where Balto is pulling Duke on the makeshift sled and he slips. It's just like a sequence in the first movie. There were several other scenes like that as well.
74-108043194704 Feb 2005, 17:36 UTC
I still think Jenna howling was scary . . . . OMG
It haunts me now after seeing it on CN almost a week ago . . .
I agree, Jean Smart isn't a bad singer (she sounded great as Stella IMO), but the only point for that song was to take up space and have Stella try and court with Boris . . . .
78-110731266005 Feb 2005, 03:40 UTC
I actually thought that the thing between Boris and Stella was a pretty interesting part of the story. I couldn't stand the song, though...ick!

Just hit the Mute button at That part next time You wach "Balto 3"
Jenna howling was a small touch I loved.(Even though It sounded more Human than K-9)I thougt It was romantic.....If thats the right word. Boris Yelling STELLA! was a spoof of anothe movie, I think it was West Side Story, But I'm not sure. Can Anyone tell Me if I'm Right or Wrong?78-110731266005 Feb 2005, 13:27 UTC
Yeah, our teacher would always talk about the line "Stella!" I'm not quite sure what movie it's from...I think that you're right, though.
68-108707261905 Feb 2005, 16:21 UTC
Hehe.. Not being a bit mean to Benson but, I can howl a lot better than that. But, I can now see why she did so. My guess is that the producers wanted the original and the 3rd movie to link together. I guess Jenna's spunk has come back again... Finally, we can see the worried and supportive mother she was before the pups.

It's funny, Aniu but I never thought of the scene like that. I was pretty certain that he genuinely needed to de-ice his wings. But it did strike me as odd that he'd not do it before starting his plane. That's like not scraping the ice off of your windshield before pulling off in your car. But the fact that you saw it as an act of sportsmanship did bring a certain level of charm to Duke.
I'm not sure where the line "Stella!" comes from, but I also picked it up as being from somewhere else. Oddly enough a parody on the Simpsons on the same play (I think) that Simba is refering to. It's amusing how Balto 3 is filled with references to other movies and unlike Balto 2 the references are a lot more subtle.118-110644348705 Feb 2005, 18:02 UTC
Stella wasn't as bad as I thought, though I have to agree the song she sang was bad.

I just re-watched the scene on my laptop: look closely as Duke waves to the team as they pass by him. He looks like he's going to take off, then he gets this look on his face right before he stops his plane, after he sees the dogs. I don't know, maybe I should ask DWK about it.
I thought Jenna's howling was cute, and yes, romantic. I do agree, however, that Jodi Benson could have howled better. Oh well, I'm not good at howling either: probably because I'm too self-conscious that my family will think I'm crazy.
This is an interesting conversation, and I've been lurking around the boards so long without posting, that it's great to be back in on it.68-108707261906 Feb 2005, 02:01 UTC
I'm too crazy to even howl when watching the movies with howling in it. Maybe if someone is willing to howl with me, I can try to teach them a better techinqe. I can actually teach someone. If someone wants to have a bit of help.

*Meep* What rock have I been under? I've never seen "A Streetcar named Desire", although I've heard of it many times. So, the "STELLA!" line didn't have any effect on me.
I love old shows, and movies: I really gotta watch more of them.
87-110773702009 Feb 2005, 21:37 UTC
I just can't stop watching Balto 3: Wings of change. Even on school days i still watch it, and i don't even worry about my grades when i spend most of my time watching it (I'm a straight A student). I really enjoyed Balto 3 because i beleive there was more character interaction in the story. I really enjoyed how the artists grew Kodi, and grateful that some of the artists came back to draw the backround images. So far i still continue to watch this movie.
Wolfen~ walks up and down the alley.

87-110773702009 Feb 2005, 21:49 UTC
Oh yeah almost forgot. I didn't hear the infamous "What the ff" in it. But i did hear someone in the movie say "What the.."
Wolfen~ falls asleep

That's Dipsy. She's the one that said 'what the...' But, nothing came too bad. She didn't say the bad word.
And Wolfen, as a packmate, don't douple post. It's against the posting regulations.

It was Marlin Brando who Yelled Stella(I saw another spoof of It on an SNL Special)
74-108043194722 Feb 2005, 16:29 UTC
What about the "What the heck is that thing?" line that Dipsy says when the plane first arrives (a bit before Balto's infamous "My God, it's here!" line)?
That wasn't too bad. I noticed the language with WoC is better than WQ (it sounded more kiddie-ish to me). This one does have any talking little pups or year-old pups either, so that makes this one have a more "grown-up" feel to the language.

:eye twitches: Balto didn't say that in the first movie. :sigh: I hate when they change the dialog that's a bit inapprotiate...

No, not that "What the"!!! It was the part when the dogs are under the floor listening to the coversation with the mail and the towns people. Just before Dipsy was about to tell the gang about the race she said "What the......" then a short stop after that. Just watch the movie again.
Wolfen~ is hungry.

Was It really? Remember Balto had never seen a plane(Up close)before. I think His shock was understandable.87-110773702024 Feb 2005, 20:12 UTC
Yeah!!!! Balto only said that because he has never seen a plane before. I agree with you SimbasGuard. Or maybe Balto said that because he had been watching the plane for some time and the plave eventually came into sight. Ohh well, what do i know.
Wolfen~ thinks really hard.
