K9's review for wings of change.

*spoilers*

Okay, I FINNALLY got the DVD Monday so.........here's my review....................And I'm sure you're all tired of this, but oh well.

Original Characters:

The original characters in this movie are true to how they were portrayd in the first movie, with a few more little quibs to flesh them out more. For example,Jenna plays a much larger role in this movie then in Wolf Quest, Muk and Luk aparently have highly active imaginations, as shown in the scene where they run back to Nome to tell Balto about the 'Monster' that attacked them(the bush plane crashing), Balto shows a rather frightening side to himself when it comes to sled racing which surprised me somewhat, and Boris is aparently afraid of hights, which would explain why he's not been seen flying much in the seris so far.

New Characters:

The new characters really fleash out the canine population of Nome and give a whole new day-to-day deminsion to to life that was obviously missing in the first movie, even more so in the second. Ex.: Mel, the Post Office masters dog, is the Worry-Wort of the ENTIRE area, showing what a hecktic career working in the Mail buisness can be, and adding some humor that can be appretiated by almost everyone.

Kodiak, Kodi for short and Balto's son, is the new still-wet-behind-the-ears rookie on the dog Mail sled-team, quite nieve and very zealeous for his job, to the point where he doesn't realize that in a backwater town like Nome doesn't have to have the mail on time, just that it gets there, and his prise for his job also results in his judgment of ethics is somewhat clouded when Duke is obviously in danger. He is also appearently insanly slow if it takes him ten seconds to figure out that the other dogs want his Dad to be the one they want to lead the team.

Stella............Stella.........I'm afraid I can't say much on her, but I will say she's like a goose version of Dixie, if you catch my drift. ......And a her intro reminded me of a PG-13 film.

Kirby is the lead dog of the mail team. As such, he is the most experienced dog on the team and realizes the mailing fact mentioned above. He is also somewhat arogant about his speed like Steele, though no where near as bad.

Dipsy. The town glutton appearently. But this could be explained with two things. She's either missing someone or something and is using food to replace it, or she could be pregnant. *shrugs*

Dusty. While she doesn't play the biggest role a side character can get, it's obvious that she is a very strong character, and she's have to be if she's the only female on a sled team.

Voice Acting:

Okay, first things first. Muk and Luks voices are even MORE off then in the LAST movie! Enough said. Boris, while his Russia accent is more convincing this time arround, it's still sounded off, while Stella's voice seems right on for the character. And I understand that Balto was surprised to see the bush plane in Nome, but saying the Lords name in vain in a KIDS movie!? I'd like to know how THAT got past the censors.

Couples:

Balto/Jenna: ........Do I HAVE to say anything here? It's cannon, end of story. And if Universal changed that a BUNCH of people would be QUITE upset to say the very least.

Boris/Stella: One word: Creepy. Now don't get me wrong, Boris having someone is a good thing, but the goose strikes me as a guy in his 70's or 80's, and Stella as a young lady in her 20's or 30's. So to see them in a romantic setting creeps me out a tad. Had Stella been designed to look a tad older and voice sound obviously older, it wouldn't strike out as odd to me.

Kodi/Dusty: While no feelings were expressed at all vocally, their actions spoke louder then words to me at least...........at least from Dusty's side maybe. She appears to be the first one to be swade from the 'let-the-pilot-die' view from Kodi's second-hand guilt trip and stayed near Kodi and looked at him concerned when Balto said they only post-poned the enevitable. Just a thought.

Mel/Dipsy: I know, weird. But let me explain. Dipsy's constant scarfing, as stated above, could be because of pregnancy, and since she and Mel act like a married couple already, they seem to be rather obvious.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
That's all I got, if I think of more I'll continue this.
O.K. One thing Balto's excamation at seeing the plane was not taking The Lord's Name in Vain(At least that's not what I was taught),However I was surprized to hear Him say that as well. I like the Idea of Kodi And Dusty as a couple even if their is no hint of intrest from Kodi, For another exsample of Possible intrest from Dusty take a look at the way She looks at Kodi when They rescue Duke  :)  Nice Review K9
Well I guess that could be interpreted differently by different people, but for me it was. *shrugs* As for Kodi, give people long enough and they're sure to find SOMETHING. And thank you, but I'm trying to think of other stuff to add.

sure you're right!! :blues:  :unclesam:
Is it really a problem for you when someone says "my god"? I thought it was pretty common. We, in france, often say "mon dieu" which mean the same, and it's not shocking at all.
Well this is a G rated KIDS mivie! The worst I thought they could get by with as Butts, and here in America taking the Lords name in vain is common in PG-13 movies and higher, not a movie for children.

i think you're not right, the film is for children it's a very simple film! :blues:
good review K9. yes, i was quite shocked when i heard him say that. you're so right K9! It's a kids movie!
Well, we french must have not the same way of seeing things. To me it's absolutely not shocking at all, even in a children film, but well...It's not as if it was an insult.
streetboris- To me it's a shock, but to other peole like you it may be normal.
When Balto said "my god" he was referring to his god and I doubt a dogs god is the same as yours (I say yours cos I don't care either way) and to be honest a dog probably thinks god is whoever feeds it.
To each his own I guess. *to self* Man I hope I didn't start a Religon war, those things make people hate you almost as fast as talking politics.
If a G rated movie can survive having "####" in it, I think it can survive having "my god" in it.

As for the Stella and PG-13 bit, I have to agree with you. The way she came off up tell the end of the movie, a little strong for kids. Especially when she mentions "tasting her juice." Then again, it's not the first time a G rated movie had PG-13 content in it.
Yeah, religion and politics often bring wars. That's why I don't follow any religion or politic, I don't need that  :D
