What do you like & dislike about the Balto movies?
[QUOTE]Ed!?
What I like and dislike? Hmmm...tough one.

I'd say that Muk and Luk were unnessesary in either movie, even more in WQ. In WQ it's pretty much the same as always: the animation, Jenna's "new" character type, and voices.

However, I liked WQ as a movie. Not as a sequal. If you think about it like that, then some people who don't like it might actually like it. In the original I love the animation better. It's, well, more lively, I guess. The WQ animation is more blocky and such. Not to mention that Balto was based on an actual event, which was touching.
I liked just about everything in Balto. The animation and the characters were all great.

WQ had great potential but, like so many other direct-to-video movies, it was really weak. I can't believe they put in Muk and Luk, who add NOTHING to the plot, but left out Steele and the Trio, who were a major part of the first movie!
(Breathe TurtleGirl breathe!)
There wasn't much that I disliked in Balto.  Maybe the some of the slower scenes with Muk and Luk.  Sometimes I wanted the more serious story to continue, and didn't feel like viewing comic relief.

Comparing that to the overall feel of the movie, even that wasn't much.  ;)
I agree with TurtleGirl,Muk and Luk added nothing to the plot. They were a pain in the rear.Steele was pretty good, they did really good making him a snob.

WQ didn't show Jenna enough, which bothered me.I didn't really think Steele and the Trio should have been in there. They would have been random(unless one of them fell in love with Aleu),maybe poorly drawn, and they could have started breaking out into song like the other charaters. The wolves could have been better. And how come Aleu looks more wolf than Balto? She is like 1/4,and he's 1/2.I t doesn't make sense.
Actually, it does make some sense. Of course, the reason goes down to genetic levels. It could simply be that Balto's wolf genes weren't as dominant in him as they were in Aleu. I mean, looks and characteristics can skip generations, and often does, so it is not unreasonable to think that Aleu looks more wolf then Balto does.
I can't complain much if any about the first movie.

The second one, I can complain. If I have done my reseach correctly, NONE of the characters used the same voice actors. The movie was also to streamlined for home video. I am not saying it was awful, don't get me wrong, it was a nice movie. It just was not given much priority at Universal and they could have accomplished a lot more if it was made more of a priority assignment.
I also wish that they would take the original characters from the first movie and put them in the next sequel.
I loved both movies :D  The one thig I didn't like was I felt They were both to short, And in the secont one I didn't like that Balto was still living on His boat, and I missed the original Voice actors
Well, I liked both movies, animation-wise, story-wise, character-wise, etc.  Of course, I liked the original more than the sequel.  However, what I didn't like was the price, since it costed 22.00 where I got my DVD!!  Another thing that I didn't like was the fact that there were only a few bonuses- especially when the trailers were the same for both DVDs...
The first Balto was much better than WQ was, the animation was better, but I know that there was diff. people drawing in the second one. But I still liked the second one.
