Boris's migration

This is one question that I've been wondering about for a while. Why did Boris leave Russia for Nome in the first place? Did he leave on his own will, or was there something that made him leave?
I think he migrated on  his own will and landed in  Nome for a break but had to stay because he adopted Balto. That's what happened IMO.
Yeah that sounds good to Me too. He also became muk and Luk's uncle at some point (I'd like to Know how that happened)
Interesting perspectives.  I have one possibility, but it might be hard to understand and might sound really really really stupid...

Since Balto took place in 1925, it was only 8 years after the Russian Revolution took place, when the czar of Russia was replaced by Lenin.  I thought that Boris probably left Russia in the late 1910s to (don't freak) escape communism and find a better life in Alaska, kinda like what happened in An American Tail.

As for Boris becoming Muk and Luk's uncle, well, I don't know.  Ummmmmmmmm.........  maybe they were also outcasts that were adopted by Balto, since Muk said "Oh the shame of the polar bear who fears the water.  No wonder we have been shunned by our fellow bear.  Woe is us."
I think that for one reason, Boris was not accepted by the other geese, so he became an outcast, and took Muk, Luk & Balto (outcasts like him) with him.
kinda like timon and pumbaa taking in simba!
Well thay anwsers My Question. So thank You, You Three. b12wq430 Your theory about why Boris left is very interesting, Although wouldn't that make Boris very old?, But maybe He knows how to stop His ageing process like Muk and Luk. Ha Ha!
Thanks, Simbasguard.  Well, I don't know how long geese live to be.  Maybe 10 years old is young in geese years... :D

To age being a factor for Boris:  You are the weakest link...

GOODBYE!

Sorry- had to say that. :p
Hmm I don't think a goose would be a victim of comunism. Nome and Russia are very close to each other and joined in the winter when the sea freezes. Many animals and people wondered from one land mass to another to I am not surprised to see Boris there.

Wow.  I didn't know that.  So are you saying that Boris walked across the Bering Strait, Fluke?  Cause that would be a long walk, since it would take 55 miles.

And for Communism, I thought of the miserable atmosphere that drenched Russia after Lenin took over, or the pollution caused by the factories, or the miserable conditions of the cities.  I got my inspiration from a book by Ayn Rand.
Walked? Boris is a bird, he has wings to fly.

Again I don't think a goose would be too worried about human conditions..

Okay.  I guess that I misunderstood you, Fluke, because when you said that Nome and Russia were joined by an ice bridge and that many animals and people crossed the bridge, I thought you were hinting that Boris was one of the animals that crossed the bridge.  Guess I was wrong.  How silly of me.
I was using the ice bridge as an example to show that it isn't unusual to see Russian animals and people in Alaska especially round Nome
Fluke: Ok. My fault. I'm dumb. *bangs head on wall* *Smacks self across face for sending that article* Sorry.

Anyway, I guess we can assume that Boris lived in Eastern Russia... And I might as well just throw my old theory out the window, since it did sound a bit pathetic...  I kinda agree with Steetboris's idea, but I have a hard time seeing Boris as an outcast goose...
