Or does Balto seem alot like Simba from Lion King?
Whenever I watch the Balto movies, I find much of his movements, expressions, and even his voice (even though I know its not) are alot like Simba's. Am I the only one? Or do others see this too?

Well I love "Balto" Just as musc as I love The Lion King. Both Movies Strike the same cord within Me. The Movies are very similar, But I never thought of Simba and Balto Themselves being all that similar. I just know I like both movies The same. And since I place The Lion King in a class By Itself That's quite a statement for "Balto"

Yes, the movies are very similar, I think this is not very new. But, the character from Balto who looks like one of TLK to me is Steele, I always found him very similar to Scar in every point.
That's another reason I believe it deserved to be a great success and to be much more popular. To me, Balto is even better than TLK...

I like the Lion King well enough and I don't think that animation gets any better, but I like Balto more.
Oh, hehe, sorry. Back to the original discussion. I've never noticed any similarity between the two movies, much less the two main characters. However, a lot of Balto fans are big Lion King fans as well, and vice versa, so maybe, in a way, they do both 'strike the came chord' but I don't find them anything alike.

I agree with the Scar/Steele thing.
But seriously. If you watch Lion King, then watch Balto, you might discover the expressions and movements of Balto to be the same as Simba.
It's not the animation style or story I'm talking about. Its the movements and expressions.118-110644348702 Feb 2005, 04:32 UTC
I never really noticed it, but considering I don't care for TLK..

IMO:the movement and expresstion,Balto looks like Simba. But not at all,Balto's character doesn't like Simba(because Balto doesn't have the children character,he has leadership, selfconfidence, braveheart etc
).However,I like them all,lol...(Sorry,If I out of concept

The voice of Steele, Jim Cummings was also the voice of Ed in Lion King He also dose some of Scar's singing. I alwas thought Steele was more evil than Scar. Scar Wanted to kill His Brother and Nephew so He could Be King. Steele wanted to kill Balto(And would have willingly sacraficed His Master, His Team, And all The sick childeren of Nome to do It)For what? So He could have a better chance at Jenna, Or Just because He didn't like wolves.

Now that you mention it, Steel and Scar ARE a lot alike. Of course, most animated villains follow the same concept: narrow eyes, pointy snouts (or noses) sloping faces... but even with that said I still can see how Scar and Steel are alike. Good point.

I like Balto as much as i like the Lion King. But I do not see a realtionship between Balto and Simba. I do however feel that Steele and Scar are alike in some ways. The Only thing really, that i can relate to is in Balto 2. When the Wolves sing the Grand Design. it reminded me of when Ziera sang the Lullaby to Kovu.
oh yeah, Muc and Luc remind me of Timon and Pumba.

Wow that's really cool. I didn't even know that. So that's why Muc and Luc reminded me of Timon and Pumbaa. Thanks for telling me SimbasGuard.

Another conection Between "Balto" and Lion King is The Voice of Aleu(Lacey Chabert) is also the voice of Young Vitani 87-110773702011 Feb 2005, 21:05 UTC
Ohh!!! That is really cool. But, is Vitani Kovu's playamte. If so i really don't here a relation between the two.
But Thanks anyway.

SotN's List Of Balto/TLK Similarities:
-Villain falls, hero looks down cliffside (really... uncanny... just look!
-Hero is reunited w/ heroine; they jump and be all giddy and happy (end of Balto, middle of TLK)
-In sequal, the kid is like the opposite of the adult (particularly annoying in aimated sequals. --
-As heroine tries to talk to hero, hero stalks off angrily (end of dog race, after "Can You Feel The Love Tonight?")
-Hero is framed by villain to appear wrongdoing (Steele making Balto growl, Scar making Simba run away)
-"The Trio" (self-explanitory)
-Villain likes heroine, heroine hates villain (not in TLK movie, but if I'm not mistaken, the broadway version=yes...?)
-Hero leaves home, heroine ends up following
-Hero (in sequal) has daughter that hates him, but likes mother (until the end of he movie, of course)
I'm too lazy to think right now. 83-108302525613 Feb 2005, 07:19 UTC

You're right There is a scene in The Lion King Brodway show where Scar makes a play for Nala(I hope to see That Show Someday)75-110615482421 Feb 2005, 21:29 UTC
Whoa there! I definately think Scar was more evil then Steele. Scar was driven by the desire to be king and his motives were clear from the begining... Mufasa and simba's death. He was driven by pure evil. Steele on the other hand was driven by pride and arrogance. killing Balto was never his main goal, it just happened to be, um, convenient (?) at the time of the fight, not pre-meditated.
There are definately similarites between Simba and Balto, though.

True, But even though It was not pre-meditated In trying to Kill Balto(Making sure He never got home)Steele would've killed All The sick Childeren in Nome as well as His Team, And His Master. I think that make Him more Evil on body count alone
