Petition continuation

To everyone here.

I was going to post that just before Vesta closed the petition topic, but Vesta seems to be too afraid of facing reality. You had no excuse to do that, since I've not insulted anyone or things like that. I'm just saying the truth.

France, and most of the other European countries, are very strict on their education.(Unlike our country is, sadly) They *have* to master another language before graduating, so Steet should be expected to have better grammar than what he has shown thus far.

It's not fair to attack me on this. I never said that my english was perfect, not even good.
I don't know how my english is, because no one (at least, until now) ever commented it. If my last posts have a lower grammatical quality, it can be because I didn't take the time to find the accurate words into my dictionnary.

And what you're saying that "french people have to know how to speak english perfectly to graduate"...
That's completly wrong. French people are famous for being late compared to the other european people , when it comes to speaking foreign languages...
We, in France, only begin to study english at the age of 10-11 years old. And we don't even have to study english, we can study german instead; it's only a secondary language.

Try speaking a language that is not your main language...

I'm talking to Vesta and to everyone who are following her opinion.
You're giving me the feeling that you don't accept anyone that wasn't part of your (now very closed) Balto old fans community. You have very precise rules, that newcomers can't follow.
I know of some people who left just because of that. Do you remember Loop (lupercal) on the forums?...

Because the topic is the petition, I will get back to it.

Where were you when I asked people to give their opinion on the petition? I only made it online after a full week, so everyone had the time to see it, and give their opinion. I was prepared to consider adding the opinion of everyone in the text of the petition. And yet, you're only saying your opinion NOW.
I even emailed every Balto webmaster at this time, asking for their opinions, which felt important to me, and how many answers did I get? NONE! I know most Balto webmasters are busy, but now I also know that some of you just didn't care about it.

On another point, it's interesting to see that everything Balto related (which obviously includes merchandises) is considered as crap. But, isn't he the one who collected the most Balto merchandises? So he likes collecting crap. Great. I also thought that most Balto fans did like Balto 3, even Acanis, so most of us like crap.
The worse thing being that I understand people who don't like the sequels, and I respect that.

So I'm so proud of myself, right? Sorry. I don't have a livejournal, like some of you have, Acanis for example, when the only aim of such a livejournal is to show to the others their achievements in life.

It reminds me, when I found information for B3 on the web. Some people (I don't remember who exactly) thought that I should have stopped posting information on the forum, because they felt that I was taking all the credits. So, it means you wanted me to keep all the information I had found, only for myself. That's egoistic. That's what you wanted me to be.
I have also another example. When I came to The Balto League chat a few times, some of the members (especially Vesta), wanted everyone to follow their opinion. Not only does they didn't care about the new members (like me, Policho, etc...) but she also prevented people from talking about Balto!!! With the only excuse being that she was tired of talking about Balto. That's disrespectful. Sorry, I didn't know it was a private club, reserved only for the old community of Balto fans. Which moreover don't want to talk about Balto anymore.
Hopefully, not all of you are like this. I especially thanks John for welcoming me, and for trying to speak with me.

I know where the problem is. I want more people to know Balto, while you don't care. That's a very selfish way of thinking.
You're claiming that you are fans, but you are not. People who wants their favorite film to be killed, forgotten by everyone, and don't want more people to know it : it is absolutely not the definition of a fan, but the definition of a film hater.

Blame me for not being egoistic, for being a fan.
I think this topic is going to be locked by Vesta, but I must admit I agree with Steet: the petition is a great idea and I don't want to Balto die unlike Fluke and Vesta because I think Balto should be more pupular, and a sequel isn't a bad thing. Of course the first movie is the best, but I liked Wolf Quest and WoC too.

And I know that my grammar isn't perfect.
I agree in some positions with Steet. Vesta was plain rude.
P.S. Vesta i rise to defend him and im not from his forum.
P.S. 2 - Vesta are the rules different for mods than members? (you just insulted and used dirty language! )
Here is a advice that works in life and hits the dreamers:
"The more power the man has the more selfish he is."
P.S. 3 (last) - Thats why i dont trust your American Democracy:
"Always there are two classes the one who exploits and the one who is exploited."

Please everyone stop and chill! I hate to see people fight! I mean we are just Balto fans expressing opinions! Whats wrong with that? Everyone has a different opinion on things,it doesn't mean we should jump on each other about it. I mean come on!
I will deal with this later, I have to run huskies cos I have a life etc. Topic locked.

*edit* no I'm not, now I have gotten home and actually read it. Since no one defending Steet or Steet himself even has any idea what the actual opinion of those not in favour of his silly petition was, then I see no point in persuing it, it has just been replaced with loosely based insults and assumptions. I oculd go onto pick apart his post explaining what a LiveJournal is for etc, explain about the Balto merchandise and opinions about WoC which *even I* liked, I could continue to talk about the rules of the forum, rules that newbies can't understand like don't double post etc.. well maybe we should introduce an IQ test before joining, that would solve a few problems. I could say a lot of things, but I won't as it would be lost. Just like this topic as it will be deleted a long with the last one soon.

*Edit again and I don't know why but..* People keep saying I want the Balto genre to die but well no, I just don't see a "better future" in the form of tv shows, DTV sequels (loads of them) and a stupid computer game common people surely it is quality not quantity???

Ah, opening this topic to insert a few of my opinions.  First of all, I just saw your email Street.  I had personally not been checking my TIC e-mail because I've been super busy with school.  So my apologies for "not caring". :p  It's been said over and over again, but some of us do have lives.  This is why I haven't been around.  When all is said and done, I'm more concerned about doing well in college than worrying about online petitions.

Secondly, while I feel a lot of your requests were a unreasonable (The soundtrack and a widescreen re-release are resonable, the TV show and video game are very much unreasonable) I don't really care if you go ahead with the petition or not.  While I don't mind being honest with people in situations that require a realistic view, I'm not one to shoot down their hopes either.  For example, CW(Tyger) asked me to sign a petition to get Father of the Pride back on the air on NBC.  I said I doubted it would happen, especially after what happened with Futurama on FOX (that had a few million signatures and did nothing to change the network's mind).  However I signed it anyway and wished the fans the best of luck.  As far as I know that show is still cancelled (darn shame too).

As for Universal, I doubt they'd listen to all of those requests.  As I've said some of them are quite unreasonable.  Maybe we'd get a soundtrack, a few plushies and DVD re-releases but that's a best case scenario.  As for the other things you've mentioned, those are multi-million dollar projects, maybe they'd gain some momentum among fans and potiental fans.  But there's no guarantee that such a thing will happen.  I mean Universal would have to pour millions into this show first producing it, then on a huge advertising and PR machine.  If they don't recover the costs of making the show and it turns out to be unprofitable than the plug will be quickly yanked.

Think about current day video games.  Even some of the best of games are hyped to the extreme.  Sometimes they live up to expectations, other times they flop, horribly.  Universal would have to pump millions into advertsing just to generate enough interest in getting people to pick up the game.  (An action game would work much better than an RPG by the way.)  But think about those hard core gamers, the majority of them, not the minority of us.  When they pick up the disc, the first thing they're going to ask themselves is "Balto?  What the #### is this?!?!"  Not, "Balto?  Oh yeah this children's animated game is going to be hot!"  At the best you may have parents buying for their younger kids.  Sales expectations would not reflect the true reality of the market.  Especially when an growing number of gamers (those who dish out the big bucks) are in their later stages of life (20s, 30s and even 40s!;).

In all in all, I'm just being realistic with you Street.  I think this whole flame war over the petition thing has gone out of hand.  A few requests on the behalf of a small number of Balto fans is not worth such an ugly war of words.  Just reading through these threads alone and the war of words is enough to turn me off to the idea of posting the petition on my site.  I may do it, I may not.  But for the sake of all things sane, don't go on such an ugly rampage over one animated film.  It may be one of my favorites, but it's not that serious in the end.  If I disagreed with everyone who didn't like Balto or certain aspects of it (including a few real life friends) then I would be a pretty lonely person right now.

And being the demented admin that I am, the thread is closed once more. ;)
