I thought I would start a new merchandise topic as the old one is no more. I always love talking about Balto stuff, so lets start it off with this I saw last night..
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3128662257&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOAB:UK:6
Look how much I paid for him and look how nice a condition he is! This price is much more like it! I just had to take advantage, he is nicer condition than the other one I have, which I might end up selling.
76-106196064325 Apr 2003, 16:46 UTC
It is in great condition! I am not really a collecter of Balto merchendice unless it is art. But still... maybe you can sell me the old ones you have. My niece could probably have them. Talk to you later.
78-106196066525 Apr 2003, 18:43 UTC
Good deal, AC. I can tell the condition in the picture by how white Balto's paws look. Other than the DVD's, I don't own any Balto merchandise... A college budget and undergraduate school looming on the horizon combine to leave me without available financial resources. *sigh*

That is awesome, Fluke. I'm jealous, LOL. I want a Balto plush so bad it's not even funny. I have searched far and wide with no luck. I don't have a credit card, so Ebay is out of the question.
I'm now at a point where I would buy a plushie at any price, in any condition. I'm desperate, to say the least.
I probably sound nuts, but I pretty much am, considering I can't get out of my parents' house because of my disabilities...
116-106196084625 Apr 2003, 21:52 UTC
aniu, with ebay, many people who sell accept paypal, which links up with your checking account, no charge. it can be found at
http://www.paypal.comjust look in the bidding options if they have it as an accepted payment.

I just remembered, my brother who is in college does have a credit card. Still, I don't think he'd want to get something off Ebay. I think that he might get a plush for me though if it was from someone I know.

Oh he's in a good condition alright.Previous owner must've kept it well.
The way I spend my money,I wouldn't have anything left to buy it. Kay+Money=0.LOL!
70-106196059226 Apr 2003, 12:26 UTC
Yeah I saw how great a condition he is so I couldn't let it go for that price, looking at it more as an investment lol. But yeah if he is that great when I get him, I will most likely sell the other one.
83-106196071626 Apr 2003, 14:45 UTC
A nice buy AC, for the moment you can say you now have 3 plushies. ;)
My collection started out with a taped verison of Balto then a few cheesy toys from Hardees. Now's it's a bit bigger, but I haven't recent had the time to bid on anything or buy anything. Perhaps when summer comes. ^_^
83-106196074126 Apr 2003, 18:41 UTC
that's nice fluke ;) Reaaallly nice ;) looks brand new.,
now if they did Balto II plushies ..*sigh*
70-106196059226 Apr 2003, 23:09 UTC
*GAH* I have just spent more money...someone stop me. I have a snow globe now lol
78-106196066526 Apr 2003, 23:38 UTC
Oh no! It must be a spending spree affliction, AC! I had one of those a couple summers ago and ended up "investing" a small fortune in antique telescopes (not that I regret it!). Did you get a good deal on the fabled snow globe?

You're an ebay addict Ac! ;)
70-106196059227 Apr 2003, 09:06 UTC
Well I got it for less than what the person selling it paid, and it does have its original box.. so yeah I think I got a good one. Now I'm gonna stop going to ebay.. I have to try anyway. I can't afford any more lol
78-106196066527 Apr 2003, 14:47 UTC
Oooo... Original box... Good deal.

Wow you actually bought that thing (snowglobe)? Niiiice! Oooohhh one of thoes would look sooo good on my desk, but alas you are the greater fanatic and ebay addict,
70-106196059229 Apr 2003, 16:35 UTC
Guys look at this,
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....when
they decide to sell it at a sensible price, they might actually sell it, I hope no one bids, sick of over priced Balto stuff.
Balto was not a big enough movie to justify these high prices. 99% of people haven't even heard of the movie.. if it was disney with a story board of say a key scene in TLK, then yes maybe that price, butn ot Balto. Idiot.
77-106196066129 Apr 2003, 17:04 UTC
expensive, but thats the coolest storyboard I've seen.
How is it a few different people seem to have several of these to sell? What do animation studios do with storyboards and stuff like that after a movie has been produced... throw them away? ...give them to whoever wants them? ...sell them off to collectors?
70-106196059229 Apr 2003, 17:44 UTC
Well all the decent art like production drawings and cells (if there are any) and backgrounds will be stored for future reference, but a percentage will be sold off to anyone who wants them. Pre production drawings in this case I think were kept by the animators, and story boards I'm not sure. I know Universal has kept a huge selection of Balto art though, for reference in the sequel(s). I know, I've seen a picture

83-106196071629 Apr 2003, 18:25 UTC
It maybe not be 1500 dollars, but it's still too high. And it's not even a cel. I mean the other storyboards are usually around 30-45 dollars. =p
And <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3221100050&category=1532">this</a> is good looking and not a bad price either. Why did I have to be short on cash? >_<
70-106196059229 Apr 2003, 18:50 UTC
yep I'm watching that one.. I think its from the same people my cells came from
78-106196066530 Apr 2003, 01:03 UTC
To be honest... I'd shell out 跌 to 400 for that particular storyboard, just because it is of a particularly memorable scene (Balto & White Wolf howling) and just conveys a lot of emotional power. But then, my intentions are grossly biased - philosophy: whatever brings one joy in life is simply priceless. And now the tragedy... With my prospective college expenses and pursuit of a double major, my budget is in some serious deficit spending for the next 3 years unless I can find a way to be ultra stringent. Maybe I could eat less? LOL.
Best of luck with the auctions, AC. Count me out for any bidding: broke, broke, broke.

Ugh someone did buy it as well! That sucks, people like that let others make too much of a profit out of Balto.
In other news, I got my Balto plush today! He is really nice which means I'll end up selling the other one when I can be bothered to make the effort
78-106196066501 May 2003, 00:51 UTC
Wow, that
rots. I guess it's an example of the economic laws of supply and demand - like how I could purchase a Spencer & Browning telescope (circa 1830) for 赨 to 躔 in spring of 2002, but an equal instrument today runs 迀 to +.

Supply and demand, predict it and you can rule the business world. It will be interesting to see if other people start listing ridiculously high priced storyboards with the hopes of finding a bidder like that, but I'd bet it was just a fluke (and not the messless alpha wolf kind)
83-106196071601 May 2003, 16:42 UTC
I guess they really wanted it that badly. ^_^;
67-106196057302 May 2003, 17:31 UTC
Ugh! I can't believe someone would pay that much! I know that guy and can tell ya what he paid for it.....here's a hint, take the zero off the end of the buy it now price.
*shakes her head* Oh well, like it's been said before, supply and demand.

If I was Elvis, which I'm not, I would probably say something like "Lord have mercy". I am an eBayholic!! Lookie:

I had to, the last set I saw went for over 100! Although I will probably sell the Steele in the set, I have a loose one of him already
83-106196074103 May 2003, 23:12 UTC
any info on how much you'd sell it for Fluke? mmm.. never a Boris toy before . neat ;)
78-106196066504 May 2003, 04:03 UTC
*Want.* I so want to have the Balto figure to place as a topcase ornament for my Vespa. LOL. Then again, I couldn't leave him out in the rain... I'd have to take him everywhere, maybe work a silver chain and use 'em as a pendant... That'd be awesome.
Congrats on an outstanding purchase, AC.

LOL I was really going for it last night, I also got a really nice single of Reach for the Light for 2.99 lol. I really must stop.
On that note ahve you guys seen that plush with a buy it now for 95?? I hate people like that, don't they realise that 2 Baltos have just been on eBay with a buy it now of 25
They were better condition too! *pats Balto's head*
AS far as the Steele goes, I dunno how much to be honest. If I chose to sell him I would probably stick him on eBay and see what he ges me. If advertised right, he can be pretty valuable

Buying can be addictive... Especially on EBay. Two summers ago I was hit hard when everything in me screamed "buy!" buy!" buy!." Basically, I ended up spending two years worth of budget within two weeks. LOL... You only live once though, right?

I doubt I could afford that steele figure though. XD
Yes, Ebay is a addictive, which is why I don't browse much anymore. ^_^;
83-106196074104 May 2003, 22:36 UTC
yeah, that's ridiculous ..*shakes head* I mean I wonder if a robber would know valuable it is..:p
mmm.. I really wonder how many have those Steele figures in the U.S it is a U.K figure right?
well, you can always substitute Steele if you can't find him.. I have an A.M plush that just great (though's he's just a pup
) Balto and Jenna would be a lot harder to sub.
70-106196059205 May 2003, 20:13 UTC
Yeah they are from the U.K. I have only seen about 2 or 3 people with them in the U.S. Cyberwulfe is one of them.

70-106196059206 May 2003, 15:44 UTC
LOL! Amen to that.
Oh and my SnowGlobe arrived today
It is really really nice and the box is in great condition too!
83-106196071606 May 2003, 16:02 UTC
Lucky dog! XD Will you have pictures soon?
70-106196059206 May 2003, 16:32 UTC
I'll probably just use ones off the auction, the box is just red with "Seasons Greetings" on and of course the product info etc
83-106196071606 May 2003, 16:39 UTC
And somehow that doesn't surprise me one bit. XD
70-106196059209 May 2003, 21:06 UTC
check this out
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws....it's
the same one I have, I recommend buying it if anyone is interested!
78-106196066510 May 2003, 05:32 UTC
I could *really* use some cool Balto merchandise for my new townhouse that I am moving into this summer... But then, the place doesn't pay for myself, so I am going to decorate in "Used & Ghetto" motiff. LOL. Ahem, now if the college dean didn't axe my student aide position for the summer, I might be able to afford better things. LOL

I saw that, but alas, i'm short on funds right now. But I would certainly love to have one.
83-106196074624 May 2003, 22:08 UTC
That is really neat! ^_^ Personally, what I have always wanted in Balto merchandise is a painted 'cel' that some people make. Ah, I dream of a White Wolf 'cel' framed and hung on my wall...too bad I have no idea how to maintain cels, real or 'made'.
(eBay really is addictive, I got addicted to bidding on some Suicune/Entei/Raikou UFO Catcher plushes..yeah, they aren't from Balto...I gotta look for something sometime, lol)
[Sorry 'bout trailing off-topic there! ^^;; ]
70-106196059225 May 2003, 00:11 UTC
I actually made a whitewolf cell for someone ages ago..but I'm not doing that stuff anyway more cos of printers and effort etc
83-106196071627 May 2003, 06:47 UTC
No? Aww darn, and you made them so well too, AC. -_-;
70-106196059228 May 2003, 19:15 UTC
I suppose if someone really really wanted one, there's a chance they could convince me.
Actually I was thinking Silver of contributing to your "Save the Cave" thingy in doing some art for people if they wanted it, you know like custom LJ icons, avatars etc. You never know, might give a bit of extra cash towards the server. I'll see what happens when I get out of college in a couple of weeks.

Okay, sounds good. ^^;
70-106196059205 Sep 2003, 18:59 UTC
I thought I would drag this old topic up, I haven't bought anything for a while but right now, I'm going for it. 2 new things!
1st, this

It's the Italian version of Balto, and what is cool is it comes with those most excellent stickers! And oh yeah I plan to watch the whole thing lol.
I have another on the way.. but you will have to wait
76-106254582305 Sep 2003, 21:50 UTC
Damn !How many more languages is this availible in?,,Ahh the joys of ebay Huh? J/K lol
83-106196071606 Sep 2003, 03:49 UTC
I'm not sure what's more interesting, the fact that you got Balto in Italian, or that it came with stickers. I guess that makes you the King of Balto stickers too? I doubt JennaFan/Engel has more than you, AC. XD

Dang...That'll be three languages I'll have to keep up with. Sign Language, Japanese, and Italian. x.x;;

I had seen them before, when I went to work in Italy the guy who owned the dogs had Balto on tape.. of course in Italian and it did come with stickers.. Very cool.
Also just updated the website, check this out http://fluke.theicecave.org/premtickets.html

I wanted that snowglobe. But every time it was up for auction it went for a lot of money
On a side note: My ex fiance bought a Balto plush for me through Ebay. He ended up paying 75 bucks for it
I'm glad now that he spent so much money for me LOL Bad thing is though, it has a hole in its neck, when he bought it O.o 83-106196071615 Sep 2003, 02:39 UTC
75 dollars? Ouch! I consider myself lucky that despite the heavy bidding war, I managed to only pay around 45 dollars for my plushie.

I do think you got a really good deal on this stuff...definately worth the wait!
The studio things alone are worth the price, would be, even if they weren't Balto.
But the fact that they are Balto-y is great. *wags and waits for you to dig your way out from under the pile of Balto stuffs* LOL
-Vesta 87-106657333620 Oct 2003, 20:48 UTC
i wonder, dose Fluke own the most balto merch than any one else in the whole WORLD?
i think YES! 70-106196059221 Oct 2003, 22:54 UTC
I'd like to think so! But there are quite a few things I don't own.. yet. Now Cleveland....
83-106196074122 Oct 2003, 02:40 UTC
maybe someday Fluke will own the Balto statue, then Cleveland, and eventuallly the world!

83-106196071622 Oct 2003, 19:04 UTC
At this point, one must not wonder what you own, but what don't you own.
Because i'm sure the Balto Statue, and Balto's body aren't for sale. ;)
70-106196059229 Oct 2003, 17:30 UTC
LOL Everything has a price tag, you just have to offer enough and as money is no object for Balto.. I will own it all but won't be able to afford somewhere to live lol.
Anyway if anyone is interested, I just updated my site with more stuff.. I still have lots of original art to scan in, but this will do for now
http://fluke.theicecave.org/merchandise.shtml 65-106196054230 Oct 2003, 02:25 UTC
All I can say is, AWESOME! Lots of interesting things there, Fluke. If you keep collecting, pretty soon you'll have so much that other "Balto" fans won't have anything to buy, LOL.
Those early sketches of the white wolf remind me of Aniu in a small way. I wonder why the wolf's nose is pink. Was it originally meant to be a partial albino(partial since it's eyes aren't red)?
I wonder if the early sketches of Balto are where the animators of "Wolf Quest" got their idea for Aleu's character design? I wouldn't be surprised. He is even cream colored underneath, like Aleu.
70-106196059230 Oct 2003, 18:57 UTC
Not sure about the whitewolf's nose but I have seen some white dogs with noses like that, as you say partial albino.
I have a feeling that Aleu's design did come from those sketches. I think we had a discussion about that a while back, I also have pics that I will put up in time showing some other characters that Wolf Quest may have been inspired by..
83-106196071601 Nov 2003, 04:58 UTC
Wow, you now have so much stuff that you have to split up the categories. I really like the production sketches. Balto's first design was interesting, he really did have more husky-ish look to him. Although I have to wonder about the "Snowballs" part. Is it some kind of in joke?
70-106196059201 Nov 2003, 10:59 UTC
lol No it's not a joke, at first I thought it was like a signiture as I found it on many bits of art including one background. But it isn't, I'm gonna write about it in the production info section I'm working on
76-106254582308 Nov 2003, 19:21 UTC
Damn AC! what don't you have? J/K..LOL, I need more stuff as I hardly have anything except the current 2 movies, soon to be 3! I'm just amazed how you could recive something by mistake! that was Quite the weirdest story I've heard of a mistake by a big-name movie production stuido...
70-106196059227 Nov 2003, 22:11 UTC

Whoa, that's what I call Balto merchandise! Very cool. Good pictures too.
83-106196071613 Dec 2003, 14:33 UTC
I should have known, AC. ;)
I'm quite suprised at the explosion of Balto merchandise on Ebay. Well, suprised and glad. I'd be lying if I didn't say I brought stuff, despite the holidays. I also may look into more stuff, but finding a place for it is always the problem. ^_^;
70-106196059213 Dec 2003, 22:35 UTC
Tell me about it Silver.. my room has piles of it so I have actually had to spend money getting it framed just so I can put it somewhere...
I had seen that statue on ebay.co.uk if i could afford it, i would buy it...
83-106196071613 Dec 2003, 22:49 UTC
Hold up a bank, and if you get caught, tell them it was for the huskies. ^_^;
70-106196059213 Dec 2003, 23:02 UTC
or maybe I can sell some internal organs on eBay.. anyone want to donate their organs to the cause? I hear hearts are worth a lot... my heart is no good to anyone, it's too cold :P
70-106196059414 Dec 2003, 21:49 UTC
No, you got a warm lil heart there
Its worth alot, but its better to keep it in your chest. :P 83-106196071615 Dec 2003, 01:32 UTC
*Hordes her organs.* They are not for sale, I need those to live and fuction.
72-106196059916 Dec 2003, 04:48 UTC

In the last days, there are many Balto Plushies at Ebay. I bought two of them. I think they are in a good condition. What did you think?

65-106196054202 Feb 2004, 11:47 UTC
Those look good to me! Although, I don't understand precisely why people should buy more than one for themselves, since that makes one more "Balto" fan without a plushie, including me
. Seems lots of people have more than one, and, aren't "Balto" plushies rather rare? *Mischievous snicker* 70-106196059203 Feb 2004, 00:17 UTC
Perhaps I should keep quiet about quantity then Anui? Nah lol I ahve 2 Balto plushies sitting up, 2 Snow Globes, 3 complete sticker albums (I bought the last 3 from the company) and about 4 press kits or so. I forget the exact number..
They look like they are both in really good condition to me, how are their eyes? Not scratched at all?
65-106196054203 Feb 2004, 00:40 UTC
Yeah, it's okay Fluke, since I already know about your plushies. *Looks googly eyed at the images on AC's site*
If I ever found a Balto plush, I'd get it so long as it was recognizable, lol. I'd get some paint and touch up the eyes, and administer TLC to wherever else it was needed, wouldn't matter to me, so long as he was mine
. Hopefully someday I'll be lucky, and get a second chance(yeah, I had the chance once before, I was at a thrift store, holding a Balto plush in my hands...to this day I have no idea why I passed it up). Heehee, rambling and dreaming again... 98-107625767116 Feb 2004, 03:28 UTC
I really want a Balto plush.I saw a jenna plush and bitted on it but i lost. Since then i've ben looking on ebay and stiil no sign of any.If anyone sees any tell me.

No, they haven't any scratches in the eyes. I am very happy that both Plushies are in that condition ( specially after the long journey from the USA to Germany). Thanks for your answers!98-107625767118 Feb 2004, 19:46 UTC

I have a toy of Boris. I think my sister got it for me ages ago... I don't know how she got it, hmm...

it' s an limitid edition sericel. 98-107625767121 Mar 2004, 23:05 UTC
there's a nice balto plush on ebay now. It's $9.99.
There's a Jenna Plush too she's $10.50. there both in very good condion. Which one should i bid on though? I'm kinda low on $$ since i spent all of it at the mall today. I only have the money for one but i wish i could get them both. So witch one should i get anyway?

65-107815589724 Mar 2004, 18:10 UTC
Ya' know...I have terrible luck on ebay. There was one thing that I REALLY wanted, and I'm sure a lot of you would too. It was apparently some original drawings and sketches of characters in Balto. These were things like Star and Kaltag broken down into shapes as well as facial expressions of Nikki. Did anybody see it? I bid on it a few times but the other person must've had it rigged cause no matter how much I bid, there would immediately be a higher bid by that person. I guess that person must've REALLY wanted it too. *sighs*
Oh well, until I can find another job, I can't do much bidding on ebay anymore.
66-107407123824 Mar 2004, 23:04 UTC
When was that?
I must say, I love Ebay, because I get some wonderfull things there, like an complete KFC Set of Balto, this picture you see on my last post, some Balto plushies ( sitting and Laying down Plushies) and and and.
For those you searching for Balto Posters or Press kits:
www.nostalgia.com
a really great shop
72-106196060926 Mar 2004, 23:14 UTC
I know what you mean Aneiryu. I've bided on several items on ebay, mostly Balto stuff, and I've experienced that whole outbid feeling. Yet despite popular belief its not "rigged" at all.
What most peps do on ebay is place a "maximum bid" on something and let that run things for a bit. Example: Say something is going for $9.50. To have the winning bid Id have to bid $10.00, right? Well, lets say I don't have the time to keep an eye on this item 24/7. So what I would do is place a "maximum bid" of say, $50.00 dollars. What ends up happening is that whenever someone else bids on that item my bid automatically outbids that bid by $. 50 cents until it reaches my $50.00 dollar limit. Thus that is what you most likely ran into on biding for that item. =/ Sometimes you just have to have deep pockets on such things...
83-106196074129 Mar 2004, 00:06 UTC
how much was your KFC set 82? . I'd like to get that but I don't do international bidding
. not to mention those figures go for outrages prices . I've seen go up to $100.00 or more on Ebay
66-107407123829 Mar 2004, 07:49 UTC
I have paid 117 for my KFC set.
70-106196059229 Mar 2004, 10:57 UTC

I have bought an Balto Press kit from Nostalgia.com. On the front site is an Sticker with 'File Copy Do not Remove' on it. Does anyone know what that mean?
@ Fluke: When have you get your Balto Set? I think its now harder to get an complete Set, and so the Price is higher.

72-106196060919 Apr 2004, 19:24 UTC
Congrats on the job, Aneiryu.:) Where will you be working at if you don't mind me asking?
Did you win a movie-size poster, Asgeir?
65-106294487019 Apr 2004, 19:48 UTC
Yep! But its kinda strange.. because on the back of the poster, there is the same image,, but Inverted :o
72-106196060919 Apr 2004, 19:58 UTC
Thats.....odd indeed.
Heh, you could at least hang it from a ceiling like a flag this way.^^ 65-107815589719 Apr 2004, 22:26 UTC
The same image inverted on the reverse side? That is odd...
Anyway...to answer your question, Hybrid, it will be at a place called Bethany Village. I would basically be a dishwasher (wash dishes for hours on end...ugh) at...get this...an old folks home.
Yeah...I know, it's odd. But my brother and his girlfriend already work there and seem to like it, so, why not? At the moment , that is really the only job around that I can find, so I can't really be choosy, anyway. At least for now. All I know is that I need money to buy more college books and supplies for next semester. Not to mention I need to fund the Balto website I am hoping to put up.
72-106196060920 Apr 2004, 02:29 UTC
Money is money, no matter where you get it.
Working at an old folks home isn't to bad I hear, plus you can really learn a lot from most of those senior citizens. Some of the things they know and have been through will amaze you...@_@
Sweet, I've been wanting to start my own Balto website for a while now, I just need to learn how to do it.^^; I'll be taking classes this summer regarding that though. 65-107815589720 Apr 2004, 14:49 UTC
That's true. My brother and his girlfriend seem to like it there.
Yeah, I have been wanting to put up my own site for a while now. The problem is that I need to be able to fund a decent sized site 'cause of all the photoshop pix and stuff that I want to do to it.
70-106196059220 Apr 2004, 16:25 UTC
If the poster is double sided then it will be a light box poster, I assume it is double sided to show a clear image when it is illuminated
72-106196060920 Apr 2004, 19:45 UTC
Hmmm, have you tried going to Google and searching for a desirable site there? I bet that would narrow down your search a lot.
Ah, that makes sense, Fluke.
Thanx for clearing that up. 65-107815589727 Apr 2004, 20:23 UTC
Hurray for me!
I just won an 18" Balto plush on ebay! YES! It is supposedly in really good condition, too! I can't wait to get it! 66-107407123827 Apr 2004, 21:23 UTC
I congratulate you!
72-106196060928 Apr 2004, 19:16 UTC

65-108501507206 Jun 2004, 05:49 UTC
Congratulations!! ^_^
Just after seeing the movie a lot, i've been wanting a Balto plushie! But of course, my mum won't let me get one because I have 2 other dog plushies...an way too many horse ones. The best place to find them is Ebay, one's on there now for $8.49....Must....Get...Balto.....PLuuussshiiieeee....
83-106196074107 Jun 2004, 08:27 UTC
you can never have too many plushies
. I just bought a Ty White fox beanie named Snowcap. I thought it was a wolf. but I've never seen any white foxes before. but I sometimes imagine it's the white wolf
83-106196071607 Jun 2004, 08:31 UTC
There's nothing wrong with having a white fox plushie. ;)
65-106196054207 Jun 2004, 09:21 UTC
I also have Snocap, which is modeled after an Arctic Fox, which, during the winter, is pure white. I got it because it reminded me so much of Aniu. If only I knew how to work with fabrics, I'd dye black ear tips on it
.
I have many other Beanies, and loads of plushies, but no Balto ones yet. My brother has an account on Ebay, so I'll probably ask him sooner or later to bid on one for me. 65-107815589707 Jun 2004, 12:42 UTC
Heh...I need to find Jenna, well, after I get this job at my local Toys R Us, anyway. Oh, I have this cool wolf plushie on my dresser next to my Balto. The name on the tag says "Willimina" and it's cute! It's laying down with it's feet to one side, ya' know, how dogs look around but are laying down, but are laying on both rear feet? It's so cool!
115-108568278514 Jun 2004, 06:52 UTC
I would really like to have a Balto plushie, but I think that they don't really look like the characters, but common dogs...Well, that's judging from the pictures.
98-108879604702 Jul 2004, 21:17 UTC
I just have a few Balto stuff but I'm not done
76-108980141714 Jul 2004, 13:02 UTC
I try not to think about past Balto merchandise blunders or missed opportunities I made/had, but here are three I can think of, in ascending order of magnitude:
3) I got a four page glossy colour foldout promotional thing for the movie when it came out on VHS in Australia. I was working in a video store on weekends at the time. In fact I've still got, it but instead of preserving it, I used it as a folder to keep papers and artwork in, and eventually got some gunk on it. Anyway to cut a long story short it came apart and one corner is ripped off.
2) Around the same time, whenever it was - 1997-ish I suppose - I was in a supermarket which had a standee about 4-5' tall. The bottom half was square, and designed to house dozens of Balto videos for sale. The top half was a large cardboard heart with Balto and Jenna inside it (slightly different to the design you usually see though. Yellow background.). I'm pretty sure the main part of the thing had artwork around it, too. I asked a girl working there about buying it when they were finished, and she said I'd have to talk to the manager. Basically I couldn't be bothered, and figured I'd ask some other time. By then it was gone.
1) KFC in Australia had a whole lot of Balto merchandise, similar, (I imagine) to the UK. There were figures (again, I can only assume they were like the UK ones), cups and probably other things I'm forgetting. However they were giving these away or selling them as promo items before the film had even come out in the theatres. I walked into KFC and said "What's all this stuff?" and they said "I dunno. They just sent it to us."
You're probably asking why I didn't just buy everything anyway. Trouble was, I wasn't a fan yet, as I hadn't even seen the movie. It might even have been the first time I'd heard of it. By the time the movie actually hit the screens they were probably flogging something else instead.
So there is Australian KFC Balto stuff, but you never see it (trust me, I've looked.) It's hard to imagine they sold much of it.
Loop

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws....95&rd=1 70-106196059202 Aug 2004, 21:48 UTC
I have a set of those, they are clippings from the 35mm trailor used in cinemas
65-106294487003 Aug 2004, 00:23 UTC
I was THIS close to win the soundtrack on ebay.. but was outbidded.. yarr..
66-109077823003 Aug 2004, 17:33 UTC
I'm basically out of luck whenever it comes to the soundtrack, or any other balto items on Ebay. I don't trust tht place at all. Every time i tried to order something, i check the guys status as a seller and everything, i got something completely different without a refund... -_-. that was a long time ago though but i'm still not taking any more chances...

We have a lot of Thrift stores in my town, and I always go to them and look for Balto stuff. There is so many things you can find at the thrift store, I found a Coca-Cola bear plushie. The good thing about the thrift store is, they have low prices! The plushie I found was only 25 cents, so I bought it. I usally go in at least every Sat. and look, and if I'm lucky I can go in with my grandma and help out sort the things out and put them in the section they need to go in. So it is very easy to get your hand on things that could be priceless! Not very many people know what Balto is in my town, so I might find something some day!
98-109132677003 Aug 2004, 18:24 UTC
I didn't get introduced to Balto until about '02, so I don't have any plushies or toys from kid's meals.
However, I am soooo glad I own the soundtrack to Balto. I've been hearing about its rarity, and though it's priced a little higher than a typical CD, it was well worth the money spent! The clippings look very nice, Balto_1982. 83-106196074105 Aug 2004, 05:37 UTC

thrift stores are good. but things are getting scare in my area *sigh* I avoid Ebay as much as possible. though once in a while you can find some thing that are not too overpriced/deadbeat sellers/ damaged merch/ etc...
got my Balto Plushie at Value Village

83-106196071608 Aug 2004, 04:28 UTC
I haven't been lucky with thrift stores around here, sadly. It's a shame I didn't discover Balto sooner.
68-109293093520 Aug 2004, 01:37 UTC
I have the DVD of Balto, Balto II on VHS, and I am afraid that is about it.
I really wish they still made plushies from Balto, I really wish they had made one of Star.
I do have a plush husky that I named Star, who looks somewhate similar, but it is not the same.

I do like my Star, though.
When I do get through avionics school and then through the airframe and powerplant course as well, and get a real paying job in aircraft maintianence/repair/upgrade/diagnostic I will try and buy a lot more of the original Balto merchandise, if it can still be found. 70-106196059202 Sep 2004, 17:20 UTC
I got something in the post today! This http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....7085198 check it out, it is a large plastic double sided poster they hang in cinemas! Very cool and seeing the image that big really shows the artwork off. The detail is great, now I have to work out where to put it! 115-108568278502 Sep 2004, 17:42 UTC
Wow, that's a really big poster!
And $20 for it, is pretty cheap I think (well, I'm not really in the merchandise thing, so I don't really know) How is that no one else has bid on it? And it took a long time to travel to england, it seems? 98-109132677002 Sep 2004, 20:02 UTC
That's a really cool poster! Does it include a frame and a plastic cover?
70-106196059202 Sep 2004, 22:11 UTC
Yeah the frame on it is metal and the poster itself is plastic. It is more of a board than a poster

DesertEagleStar: That husky is so cute. Where did you get it? I want one like that! (I'm going to cry if I don't find a husky suffed toy like that...)

Just look on Ebay...that's where I got pretty much all of my dog plushies.
This: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....me=WDVW
Or this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....c=photo
For the plush in DesertEagleStar's post, I'm sure you can find it on Ebay somewhere... 68-108707261907 Feb 2005, 03:06 UTC
I don't want to go to Ebay.. Unless my uncle wants to do that for me. I remember him looking to see if he won a SpitFire car on there. He won at $1,200! Lots of moneys!
