Hey guys!
A few years ago I went to the library and checked out old newspaper articles on microfilm. I managed to find articles from the Serum Run in 1925, so I printed them out. I've got the online and will update each day corresponding with the newspaper articles.
The first article was on January 28th, 1925, which is today! I will update tomorrow's article on the 29th, and so on!
So be sure to check the page every day until Fabruary 3rd, when the last article was published!
Oh yeah, here's the URL too - http://www.cyberwulfe.furtopia.org/balto_articles.htm 65-106196054228 Jan 2004, 18:06 UTC

Yeah, it's interesting to see what you can find if you poke around in the library. I was also considering checking other newspapers. Also finding when Balto's statue was erected and finding a New York paper with the article.
More news posted tomorow! See you then!

Balto's statue was unveiled on the 17th December 1925

Thanks. I'll have to see if the library has any New York papers on microfilm, and then search for the article. I could do that this week actually. Maybe add it to the list of articles on the page I posted.

Very nice! Somehow seeing a reproduction of the articles has a nice feel to it. It's great to see a direct source outside of novels and such. I'm looking forward to the next batch of links, Khaki.

Interesting, I never thought of looking for really old newspaper articles on mircofilm. I have done it a few times but never looked futher back than 1983. If I get a chance, I shall try to visit my local library to see if they have copies of The Detroit News and The Detroit Free Press from 1925 on mircofilm.

January 29th is now online! Just to let you folks know, I will probably update the page every day between 12pm and 2pm EST. So be sure to look for the new pages then!

EDIT:
January 30th on now. I just realized yesterday that the dates in 1925 are the same as today. Today is also Friday, January 30th. I can't believe I didn't realize that before. =P

I couldn't help but notice that Seppala's name changes from time to time in the paper. ;)

Yeah, and Kasson was first printed as Casson. I am not responsible for all the bad spelling. =)
