A taped version of Balto on VHS, and both movies on DVD. I don't know if I'll ever get an official Balto video now that I have a DVD.
65-106196054204 Jul 2004, 03:41 UTC
Heh, I'm going to brag a bit now
Balto: Original VHS, Region 1 DVD, and Region 2 German DVD.
Balto II: Wolf Quest: Region 1 DVD, soon to have the Region 2 German DVD
72-106196059904 Jul 2004, 08:38 UTC
I've got both Balto and Wolf Quest on VHS. I've been too lazy to order the DVD yet.
70-106196059204 Jul 2004, 15:32 UTC
Balto on region 2 DVD which is actually widescreen
Balto 2 on same as above
Balto on VHS, I have 2 official VHS copies and about 6 versions taped from the tv. I had to have backup copies until it came out on DVD
69-106279399504 Jul 2004, 16:42 UTC
Balto on both Brazillian and American region 1 DVDs.
Balto 2 on region 1 DVD.
67-106196056005 Jul 2004, 20:54 UTC
Hehe..
Cute Avetar Echo-Husky ^^
Anyways, i dont think mine Wolfs quest is in widescreen. And its an "cheap" region 2 disc. With the bad cover. I like the one on the region 1 DVD.
Info:
Wolfs Quest is called: Det store vand in danish meaning: The great water in english. Hmmm.. o.O
83-106196071606 Jul 2004, 20:31 UTC
Gah, I forgot I also have the Brazilian version of Balto on DVD. ^_^;\n\n
67-106196056207 Jul 2004, 07:37 UTC
Where'd you get the Brazilian one from? o_O?
I have both the first and second movie on VHS. I should really start buying the DVDs, shouldn't I?
115-108568278507 Jul 2004, 07:55 UTC
I have both of them in DVD zone 2. The first Balto is in widescreen, and the second in 4/3. I don't think Wolf quest has been released in widescreen?
82-107524931907 Jul 2004, 15:26 UTC
I have both balto's on VHS, though I'm thinking of getting rid of them both. I have the first balto on DVD, but I'm debating or not to get B2 on DVD. I guess if I feel the need to support a company, I'll buy it but it won't be tell I get off my lazy butt to do so.
65-107815589707 Jul 2004, 23:32 UTC
I have them both on DVD. Although, I'm looking for one that's in wide that I can play on my fancy DVD player. It can play VCD's, so, maybe I'll get that. How is the rez and color on VCD's?

Wow, I seriously never mentioned it before? O_o; To answer your question, 27 gave me the link to the store a few months ago. Then I saw Echo got one, so I went for it. ^^; And they have the DVD up on Ebay every so often. It has three regions, including region 1, so none of that funky DVD drive flashing has to be done to watch it.83-106196070308 Jul 2004, 07:10 UTC

Yes their is
steelboris found a website that said It was coming out on November 8th(But this is only a maybe)68-108707261908 Jul 2004, 22:03 UTC
If that date is true, then, that'll be a day-early birthday present for my mom!
115-108568278509 Jul 2004, 09:08 UTC
It seems that everyone here will buy Balto 3 on DVD and not VHS. Soon I'm sure that they will stop selling films on video tape (except for recording)

But I am not sure but that's what it says on most websites
Or SimbasGuard is probably right but like he said it's only a maybe.

That's a bit surprising, did you buy WQ before Balto or is it because the VHS was cheaper? Or another reason?68-108173602510 Jul 2004, 17:56 UTC

I got WQ before Balto but I want it in dvd76-108980141714 Jul 2004, 12:33 UTC
Balto 1 on VHS (Pal), DVD (Australian, widescreen) and Laser Disc.
Balto 2 on VHS (Pal), and DVD (boxed set with the first movie, region, as above)
The Australian DVD has a documentary about the making of Balto, which I was told isn't on the US version. Don't know if it's on the UK.
Personally I think the Laser Disc version looked wonderful.

The laser disc version must be pretty rare, now.
Concerning the documentary, I think every country has it except the USA (I have the french version and it works)
76-108980141715 Jul 2004, 16:11 UTC
Does the region 1 DVD have any extras? I used to know but have forgotten. I thought that one region had a historical documentary about the actual events, or the origins of the idatarod or something, but that memory's a couple of years old and may be completely wrong.

The Region 1 DVD had NOTHING, which really pissed me off.
I'm still hunting around for where I can get the Region 2 DVD... it probably won't have any extras either, but at least it'll be...
WIDESCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!
Left side... woooooooOOOOOAAAAAAOOOooow!
76-108980141716 Jul 2004, 12:57 UTC
Why don't you get the Australian (region 4) version? It's widescreen and is still available (albeit only as a boxed set with Wolf Quest.) If interested, here's an Australian DVD seller which stocks it. You'd probably get it cheaper on ebay, but I don't know how often used region 2 or 4 DVD's of the first movie show up there.
(I assumed if your machine plays region 2, it plays region 4 as well - unless you're in England, in which case I guess you just have a region 2 player)

Hrm! For $25 + S&H, I could have widescreen Balto...
Thanks for the link, Loop! I'll definitely look into it, 'n check out my finances.
No worries about Region n stuff. Thanks to Linux, I don't have to put up with that region crapola. Hooray for the Penguin! 80-109198451808 Aug 2004, 18:02 UTC
I want the 2 versions of the 2 movies =P but that its too much here, its very difficult to get the movies... i have walked a lot *sob* and i dont get anything *sob
98-109132677009 Aug 2004, 00:46 UTC
I have both Balto and WQ on Region 1 DVD. I hope to get B3 on DVD as soon as it comes out. Oh, and does anybody know what the DVD-ROM features are on the Region 1 DVDs?
71-109168036911 Aug 2004, 15:25 UTC
I've never been able to access them.
I think there was supposed to be a documentary on it, but region 1 discs don't have it. 83-106196071615 Aug 2004, 16:06 UTC
The Documentary was supposed to be there. I was chatting with a friend in AIM, and he suggested looking through the files with a DVD ripping program. That way we'd know if the documentary was just not included on the main menu, or if Universal neglected to put it there altogether.
However, I did rip the documentary from the Brazilian verson of the DVD. I've even created a page for it here:

I have Balto on DVD and Balto II on VHS
80-107376962123 Aug 2004, 21:36 UTC
I have WQ on video, but I want to get all 3 on DVD if they sell them all together or something.
115-108568278525 Aug 2004, 14:33 UTC
There's good chances that in the US, they will release a double pack a month before the release of B3 (because it is already the case in many countries in europe), and then some months after they will probably release a triple pack.
I wish they would change the covers for the B1 and B2 DVD...
79-109362624028 Aug 2004, 01:19 UTC
that would be nice, a dvd 2 pack set. i don't like the dvd cover art for bolto, he's to fluffy.
