Has anybody seen some goofs, mistakes and spoofs in Balto, or do you have any trivias?
There are a few mistakes listed on Grey kittys site
Yes to Grey Kitty's site, but if you want, you can start your own trivial right here.
What is the adress to Grey Kitty's site?
Here ya go:

Not really sure if you could call that a blooper or not...
That isn't an error at all. The water is dark because there's very little light down underneath the ice. As the the little splash, it's very difficult to draw realistic water by hand. I'd say they did a pretty good job with that.
hm.. he has no claws on the ice reclection.. ?.. maybe thats a blooper :P

Btw, Greykittys site rule ;)
I just recently came up with a mistake in the actual story line. How do the humans know Balto's name? He is a stray. Maybe the people of Nome see him so often that they gave him a name.

To be honest, my sister came up with this. It made me really upset too because she asked that while I was watching the movie, and I didn't know what to tell her. It just ruined the whole day for me.

Ya know, I was just about to ask the same thing,but uhh i guess you beat me to it lol. and AG, I see what you where saying about the ice coverage darkening the water color there.
I'd agree with Echo's theory on Balto's name. It's often the same way with wild animals that often hang around towns, like bears; people sometimes give them names just to make things easier. My guess would be that Rosie named him first, a year or two before the movie, and the name stuck.

As for the lack of a reflection of Balto's forepaws on the ice, that's also perfectly realistic. Balto's paws are over the side of the ice chunk, which is the part that just fractured out of the surface of the lake. That part of the ice would not be shiny, wet,  and polished in real life; it would be rough and dry, and it wouldn't reflect anything.
Not very much fun storyline wise, unless you mean they would have named Balto when he was just a puppy. Which also makes sense seeing how you only said a year or two, Ag. However if we were to treat the movie only in fictional realms (because all know the RL Balto had an owner), then does that mean he was nameless as a puppy? That his mother was killed before she even got to name him? The more I think about the fictional possiblities, the more un-necessarly complicated the question becomes. I think I'll stop now. ^_^;
It makes me wonder if Balto (the character) has a name his mother gave him that he's forgotten about, sort of like in The Blood Jaguar, with Bobcat's given name. He's been Bobcat for as long as he can remember, and the adventure he embarks on brings back old memories, and he remembers he once was called Ghareen. ^^

Can you guess what my favourite novel is? :;):

Actually, that would be a very interesting theory.  Notice in Balto 2 (if you're willing to accept it) that Aniu never called him "Balto".  So it could be very possible that Balto has another name.

The more you describe Blood Jaguar, the more interesting it seems to me, CW. ^^;
i think rosies dad or the buther named him cos if u notice when steele has nicked the meat and the to men find balto with it,they say it looks like balto found his way into your meat locker :)
either that, or he came around so offten, the towns folk named him.
but we do have to keep in mind that balto was a real husky and not a halfbreed and that his musher gave him that name.
but for the movie, we can just say the people gave him the name.

Yeah that would make sense since a lot of people do name strays that hang around.

This is kind of off topic, but that reminded me of the bear that was living in my neighborhood for a while.  Someone named him Yogi.  :p
One thing I noticed is when Nikki and Kaltag grab the Medicne Box from Balto they drag it off screen. As soon as the Box is off Screen You see Nikki and Kaltag with Star talking to Balto
The only thing I could think of for that scene is that they handed it over to a couple other dogs who put it on the sled or they just pulled it far enough from the cliff edge so that it wouldn't fall.
Yes it's just that there's not enough time for that to happen, because You see the box slideing off the screen as soon as it's off Niki and Kaltage are right there with Balto, Tha and from the moment Niki and Kaltage start pulling the box it never stops
