Balto 1

Just saw it again last night! (read)

Last night I saw Balto 1 for the first time in a LOOONG time. It was great! I could see why all of you would be angry that they didn't keep the old chars, and I have to say I agree that WQ would have been better had they have kept Steele, Nikki, Kaltag, Star and Dixie, but I still LOVED the second movie. I hope B3: WOC is a combination of both movies.

It was more touching than B2, I must say. I had forgotten so much about it, especially the life-action beginning  :p

I never get tired of seeing Balto or WQ. I really do hope that the third one has the trio, Steele, and more of the other characters, oh how I miss them. :)  The life action beginning was good.
This topic better belongs in General Balto discussion.

And yes, Balto is a much better movie than Wolf Quest.
Oh, sorry Silver! What board did I post it on?  :( TY for moving it BTW!
It was in the Wolf Quest forums.  And no problem. :)
I just wached Balto today for the first time in a long time. I really have no clue what happened to Jenna.I loved her in the first movie but in WQ..........YUCK!!! she was so babyish and weird. She looked like a puppy too!she looked like she was about a year old not even.
Different artists, smaller budget, not much attention paid to the finer character details.  That's what you get when you deal with direct to video sequels.
I think Jenna looked way to old in the second movie, not younger.
WQ is not as exciting as the first Balto movie, and Nikki, Kaltag and Star is missing, but the background animation is great.

Hello :)

I think a problem with sequels sometimes (not always, certainly) is that there isn't enough of a story to tell.  For example, my personal belief is that the story of Wolf Quest wasn't strong enough because it was drawn out over a "longer" period of time.  I think the sequels to The Matrix had the same problem, while in the first Star Wars trilogy, there was more than enough story for three movies (but not six...).  This is not to say that sequels are bad movies...they're just sometimes not as strong as their original counterparts (there are always exceptions, like the 2nd Toy Story, for example).

Sometimes drawing a story out can definitely hurt more than help.  Especially if the end is rushed and it feels that way.  *nods*
I think the frist one is cool
i love both movies. Even tho WQ doesnt have anything to do with the true story. and B3 wont either but ill still like it im sure.

Same here, but I don't think that any sequel for Balto will ever reach the quality and have as much a loyal following as the original.
I really liked Balto 1 better because it was more exciting and it was animated better. I betcha the sequels are gonna get worse because of wolf quest, but Wings of change I hope will be good! This is the exact opposite of what happened w/ LOTR. They got better as they went along.
lol i have to agree on the obvious here. Balto 1 is the greatest, hands down (i used to own the DVD, but wanted to be nice to a few little girls i babysitted so i gave them my copy before they moved away. Makes you feel warm inside but now i have no movie   )
i love both of the movies, and last night i saw WQ... it made me want 2 watch the 1st one again.. so i did and still loved both of them!

i love both of the movies

I agree... Last night I saw the first one... but in Italian, (I hate E-mule) Seems to be impossible for me to get the first movie... I am doing my best to get it.
I saw it in italian because I need to see it one more time, Lol
I watch the first movie at least every summer, maybe during christmas break or so, maybe once or twice or even 5 times during the summer.
I did love the Action beginning in Balto!
In balto 2 Wolf Quest there wasn't enough action and wasn't as heart-warming as the first. In Balto 1 you really stuck to the movie. It was hard not to jump around and cheer Balto on when he talked to Jenna or when he almost fell of the cliff or running from the avalanche. So I'll say it again Balto 1 was much more full of heart and adventure and the journey of a dog sled.

And of coarse I love both Movies but I have to say Balto 2 wasn't rated a 5 on the scale of 1-5. I would have rated Balto 2 WQ a 3.
I guess its because we all expected more action from Balto in WQ, hope in Wings of Change this will be different.
 So, I think Balto1 was better than WQ too.... :) however I still love them all ^_^......
I love them both, but mostly Balto 1

Ed!?
I got the DVD for the first Balto earlier this month.
I had never seen it in surround sound before. I turned the sattelite speakers on my system up louder than the front speakers so I would notice the surround effects.
One fun part is when Steele gets back from sabatoging the sled team, and he shakes off the ice cycles, you hear them go *chink* into the wall, behind you. That is allways fun.
I love both, but I think Balto 1 is better and its musics are fantastics!
I haven't seen the first one that much, so i'm not sure which I prefer most.
